Hi! I'm kinda new to the whole DIScount DISney World and I was wondering
A)What a PIN is (I know its good for special deals and discounts at the world...but that's about all), and
2)How do I get in on that action?
Thanks guys.

A pin code is a discount that disney sends out to people either via email or postcards via regular mail. No one really knows how they decide who to send them to, but one thing is, that they need to know you exist. Go to the disney web site and register there. Check the boxes that say you are interested in getting offers and information from them. You should also order the vacation dvd. Then cross your fingers.

You are either deemed worthy or unworthy by Disney. There is no magical way to get one if you're on the "unworthy" list. It's all a random act of the Disney Gods.

Thanks. I'm gonna try and weezle my way through the massive universe that is the Internet and hope I can find the website that will hopefully make me worthy of the Disney Gods. :worship:

is it d!sney.com?
I went there and no info to sign up....
Can someone help me?
THANKS....

Call the Disney Reservations line. Talk to a real person. Get rates for rooms and/or packages, but do NOT make a reservation. Be SPECIFIC in a time you want to go. Stress to the CM that either you have NEVER been to Disney and you are planning your dream trip or it's been a long time since you've been there (once you get in their system and call often enough they will ask you for that every time). Then check your email each day and wait...

Is it generally thought that people who haven't been much (or at all) are more likely to get such offers? We go very often (our eight trip this calendar year is coming up next month) and have received at least two or three offers via e-mail during that time.

We usually don't stay on-property, though; maybe that's why Disney sends us the offers. The latest one worked, and our upcoming trip will be only our second stay on-property this year.

That's probably it, I guess. If Disney keeps records on such things -- and I'm sure they do -- they know (through the use of our annual passes) that we come often and spend three or four days in the parks each time -- but we don't usually stay at a Disney resort. A large part of the reason we don't stay on-property is because we go so often. I could see Disney wanting to get us to spend our lodging money on-site as well, enough to send us special offers.

As an aside, we'd really like to join DVC at some point. One drawback to the idea is we go so often, I think we'd want to buy lots of points if we join!

We go very often as well, and have gotten several pins. The most recent was last weekend. My DH called Thursday a week ago, and by Saturday he had an email with a PIN for 20% off for the exact dates that he had rates quoted for. For the last couple of years I have always gotten a pin after I've called to get rates but didn't make a reservation the first time around. We have rented DVC points for the last several years, but always add on a couple of days in another resort (usually a mod). I know that my luck is going to run out, but this has always been how we've gotten them :goodvibes
