Is it generally thought that people who haven't been much (or at all) are more likely to get such offers? We go very often (our eight trip this calendar year is coming up next month) and have received at least two or three offers via e-mail during that time.
We usually
don't stay on-property, though; maybe that's why Disney sends us the offers. The latest one worked, and our upcoming trip will be only our second stay on-property this year.
That's probably it, I guess. If Disney keeps records on such things -- and I'm sure they do -- they know (through the use of our annual passes) that we come often and spend three or four days in the parks each time -- but we don't usually stay at a Disney resort. A large part of the reason we don't stay on-property is
because we go so often. I could see Disney wanting to get us to spend our lodging money on-site as well, enough to send us special offers.
As an aside, we'd really like to join
DVC at some point. One drawback to the idea is we go so often, I think we'd want to buy
lots of points if we join!
