How to get a cheap Disney Cruise

This is for Dec 2009. Yes the land portion is 4 nights/ 5 days. So you are given a 5 day hopper ticket. I can never imagine arriving early enough to take advantage of the 5 day ticket deal or the last day using it before you get on the ship...

It worked out perfect for us as I am Taking a 7 day Western Carribean Cruise with Carnival . I do this from Dec 6 - Dec 13. Our land portion begins on Dec 16th. We added 3 more nights and will go to MVMCP one of the days and will have plenty of tickets!

Initially I booked with Disney and got the half price deposit deal and $25 dollar credit. Then on disboards I read about Dreams unlimited. They transferred my reservation over and I got to keep the deal with Disney and then an additional $100 onboard credit!

We just did a Land/Sea with a 5 day hopper and DID visit parks each day! We got an early flight which I booked myself to ensure that we got there early. We got to the Dolphin (a comp upgrade from CBR!) in the early afternoon, checked in quickly (another upgrade to balcony room!) and got to DHS by around 2:30 or 3. On our 5th day our pick-up was not until noon so we had our checked luggage picked up at 8 AM and got to DHS for opening and got on Toy Story since the Fastpasses were already gone on our first day. We got back to the resort about 10:45 and had an hour to relax.

I am in East Coast and in Canada. Can never get early morning flights into Orlando a reasonable rates. These 5 day tickets are a benefit though as we are adding more days. I am trying to decide whether to upgrade them to AP's as we are planning another trip within the year. I am thinking not a good idea as we are only at Disney 7 days this year....

We've done 6 disney cruises now, most of them were on a budget. We always cruise in a category 11 (would rather cruise again than pay for the window), we usually rebook onboard (only works after first cruise), and we use all seasons travel (www.allseastravel.com). We've found their prices to be lowest and their customer service is excellent. Also, we usually cruise in September. Only once did we have a problem with a hurricane and the ship is very safe (it moves significantly faster than the hurricane), we had an alternate route, but it was great. We don't usually spend a lot on board, so we find the cost of the cruise plus the tips to be fair.

Have fun,
Jennifer
