Hi y'all!

I currently have 40% off at CBR for nine nights. I'm traveling with my hubby and two sons in December. IF the FD is offered... how do I figure out which is a better deal? Rack rate or FD? Help

You just have to spend the time and run the numbers.

40% off a monderate is a great deal. How did you get it. All the pins I have seen onlyoffer 30% off a monderate and 40% off a deluxe.

Please share your secret.

We are also booked in Dec. (16-25) for 9 nights on at a moderate (POR) but our pin was only for 30% off.

For us personally FD would be a better dal.

40% of a mod is odd..ur sure it's not a deluxe discount? the room discount is best when the least amount of people stay in an expensive resort...rack rates are ridiculous.....FD is the best when you have 4 or more in a room and staying at the least expensive resort.......I am most likely using my 40% off at the BWV and cancelling my AAA discount booking at CSR, even ith FD @ BWV, the room discount is best, even paying for DXDP. Remember, the FD for values and mods right now is
$35 off per person per night, the more people in the room, the bigger the discount!!!! For people in the values, its a steal! BWV at our ages, lol (41) and kidless this trip:scared1: is very convenient since epcot and MGM is where we go the most and having DXDP, we sit down at all meals.... all depends where you are in life and what your checkbook says, lol.:rotfl2::teacher: care to share your pin details with us, where you got it? what it reads? dates its good for? etc....(minus the pin number, lol:rotfl2:)

Just make sure you are comparing apples to apples and do the math! Include DDP with your current room discount and the same ticket types. To see what FD would cost, just price out the same dates, room category, and ticket types as a normal "Magic Your Way" package and include no dining. This should give you the seasonal rack rate in the package. Take into account that if FD is offered some resorts will only get the QSDP free, so figure an upgrade charge to the basic DDP if that's the one you want.

It's not as hard as it sounds, just takes a bit of time to price out each scenario.

I was lucky to receive the mysterious "flex pin". I hear they are hard to come by and I have no idea why I received it - but it sure made my day!

I went 2 years ago, with the 40% off pin code and I had my 2 "older boys" along. I opted to stay with the pin code, but my boys sure could eat. Luckily we had a car and made many trip into town, so that saved a ton, especially Taco Bell and Pizza's. We used POFQ twice for take out pizza and we used POFQ for their Philly Steak Sandwiches.

If you want to just stay on property and eat at WDW resturants, then I would go with the free dining. You will come out ahead, because WDW food is very expensive. Cape May Buffet is $32, I think Ohana's is $28. We ate at the Pepper Market thinking it would be cheap, but it is considered a C.S. credit and entree's were $15-so definately use one ofyour C.S. credits over there. I don't know what I was thinking when we went, but everyone can have their choice of what they want to eat.

I think I came out just a little ahead of sticking with my pin code. But like I said, we ate off property a lot and had many pizza's.

We stayed at PORS for $98 a nite. If we wouldn't of dropped my pin code I think the room would of been $165. My boys did have their own room. This is another reason I stuck with the pin code.

This is my dilemma. We don't eat TS meals often, maybe 2-3 per week long trip. We're booked now for 4 nts at the Poly with AAA discount & already have non-exp hoppers. To add another night (luckily booked 1 flight on SWA) and pay rack rate for hotel + tix takes this trip from a quickie getaway to a huge $$ trip. Just to get free food. I don't know..

I wish they'd release a room only discount too.
