How to earn a few extra "kicks" on Shopkick

Someone posted this about six months ago and it was such a good little tip I thought I'd share again for any new users.
When you open Shopkick at the bottom you will see STORES DEALS PRODUCTS

Click on Products
You should have a lot of items in this feed.
Open each one and scroll down to the bottom of the products shown.
Many times you will find an envelope labeled "Tap for a Surprise"
Click on that envelope and you will be rewarded with Kicks (usually 1, but sometimes 5)

You'll notice some of the offerings with a white border open with a horizontal list (swipe left). As far as I've seen those never have bonus envelopes. The ones that open with vertical photos (swipe up) often do have bonuses.

I'm not sure how often they reload those bonuses but I try to check every couple of weeks. I can sometimes get an additional 20 kicks just by scrolling through the products.

There are new ones daily. Not all of them have kicks in them, but there are usually one or two each day. My app shows the number of new products added the same way that my mailbox shows the number of new emails - a small red dot in the upper right corner with a number in it.

So that's what those Shopkick notifications are! I have them every day and every day I open the app expecting to see messages or something, and could never figure out what it was notifying me of. Now I know. Thanks for the info!

Thanks for sharing this. I had no idea. I just checked and I got 26 kicks before I had to stop because my lunch hour is over. I'll be checking the rest of it later.

Shopkick is an app that you can earn "kicks" by checking into stores and scanning bar codes on products within the store. So for example this week, I can earn 30 kicks by walking into WalMart, and 50 kicks for walking into Best Buy or TJMaxx. There are several other stores but that gives you an example. Sometimes they have special weekends where the values are higher.

Within these stores you can scan the bar codes of items they specify. For example at CVS scan Extra Gum for 10 kicks and multi-vitamins for 25 kicks.

Then there are the bonus kicks as I posted above.

You cash out for gift cards or merchandise. 500 kicks = $2, 1250 kicks = $5
