We have a reservation for tea at the GF one afternoon, and it's right in the middle of our touring day. Would it be appropriate to go directly from the park to the tea or is dressier attire encouraged?

I came straight from the MK and wore a pastel button button down shirt with a pretty scarf and slacks - it was a rainy December day. I was about mid spectrum for dress. Some more casual, some more dressed up.

However you would like, except in your bathing suit of course :goodvibes. We have gone there casually dressed during one of our off days from the parks and we have gone there right in the middle of us being at MK. You will see all sorts of different types of outfits there. I have seen sun dresses with big hats having tea there and I have seen t shirt and shorts there as well. Normally when my girls and I have tea there, and we will be at MK, we will either wear something a bit more casual, but not too casual, to the parks...or we will wear what we normally wear to the parks and then bring a nice shirt or something for us to change into before going in. If we do this, we will already be wearing khaki shorts or something nicer then jean shorts. Have a great time there, it is one of my girls (14 and 11) and I favorite thing to do while at Disney.

1) Perfectly fine to come in "Park Attire".
2) There will be folks there
. . . dressed I Park Attire (normal shorts and light-weight shirts/tops)
. . . dressed in very nice shorts and presses shirts
. . . dressed in Afternoon Casual (upscale shorts-slacks-dresses)
. . . dressed in fancy attire (such as wedding party brunch/Tea)
3) Just don't go in torn/faded shorts and/or Muscle Tees.
4) And, put on a little more deodorant in the morning to prevent annoyances to other Tea Guests. :fish:

This trip will be our first time here too :) We plan to wear park attire - and we are casual - jeans, t-shirts, nothing with holes or anything but not fancy either. We have stayed at GF and there will be a big mix of dressed up & dressed down.

I frequently wear a sundress and nicer looking sandals (flats) to the parks, and often have a light sweater for air conditioning places! I find a sundress is often cooler than anything else! If it were me, that's what I'd wear.
It's really whatever you're the most comfortable wearing!

I wear whatever I'm wearing to the park that day, which is usually a sundress and sandals. I do go to the restroom before and kind of wash my face and smooth out my hair. If I'm wearing a hat that day, which I usually am, I'll take that off as well. I try to plan my MK day for the day I do the tea and we don't normally do but a half day at MK and that is usually morning. We will then do a monorail tour of the resorts until time for tea, which I usually book around 3 pm so it's kind of our lupper (lunch/supper)

It's super casual. And daytime. A table near us COMPLETELY dressed up as if they were going to V&A's and they seemed embarrassed, but wear what you like. :)

DD likes to "dress up" for this, so she usually wears a nicer sundress. I'm more casual, so capris and a nice top for me. We go on the afternoon of our down day while dh and boys hit the pool so we have a little more flexibility in attire. If I were to book on a park day, I would have no problem going in park attire. :goodvibes

I'm planning to take DD and my mom in September. Mom and I will probably wear sundresses or similar, would it be okay for DD (4) to wear a princess dress if she's so inclined? I know this isn't a "princess" meal, but she loves her princess dresses and has been known to wear them to our neighborhood coffee shop, I think she would LOVE to get to wear one to a fancy tea

Sure! She can wear a princess dress everywhere, it's always appropriate at her age .

We wore our park clothes, which was a sundress for DD, nicer top/khaki shorts for me, and polo/khaki shorts for DH.
