i plan to chk in on dec 18 , chk out on dec 29
i thought that it is determined by check in date, but i called disney, and they said
The way we determine the room rates is to go by which season you fall into. When it falls into two seasons like yours will, we determine the rate based which season the majority of the rooms fall into. Since a very small percentage of your rooms will fall into value season, we will have to charge the holiday rate for your rooms. ... is that true?

Um...NO

In the 5 years that I worked at the resorts the way it was done was to book you two reservations if you fell into 2 different price ranges. Say your first 2 nights were during regular season and your last 5 nights were during peak they would book you a 2 night reservation and a 5 night "continuing" reservation...to reflect the price change. If you are going to be there during a rate change. I would call back and ask someone else. I have never seen it done like that and I would venture to say it would not be fair to charge you higher for the days before the rate changes...

No.

We were originally planning to be at Disney 12/20-12/27 and our TA explained that if we arrived by 12/19 we would get the value rate for our entire stay. We, of course, said YES!

I'm here now. Checked in 2/11 which was last day of value. I am paying value rate for all nine days. Was going to check in on 2/12, but decided to stay the extra night for $250 less. AAA knocked off another $250, so I did alright.:smooth:
