How to deal with hyper active kids...
2 years old and 4 years old...
2 years old and 4 years old...

.First..be thankful for healthy normal children.
Than...Find lots of ways to let them be active!! They are suppose to be!!
Get them outside and give then open ended toys ;Balls, trikes etc and let them play!! Take them to a park and let them loose on the playground or in an open field wirh a kite!!
If you have to stay inside, find ways to be active. Put on music and let them dance, move around table and chairs to create a open area to play. Take a trip to an indoor play area or a fast food place that has a play area.
When they need to calm down, plan transistion time to help them. Offer a warm bath, books , a snack.
Avoid too much tv& too much sugar. Be sure they get enough sleep at night and plan a nap or at least a rest time during the day,
Try to avoid labels such as hyperactive. They may try to live up to the name!!
good luck, and be strong!!!!

Kids are no different than most dogs. They build up energy and need exercise to drain it. Some days after they (the kids, or dog) have been stuck in the house, they start driving you nuts, I tell them, "OUTSIDE and 10 laps around the house!" They need mental challenge or physical challenge to burn off that pent up energy.
Now if you were telling me you let them eat all sorts of sugary and processed foods, then Id tell you to change their diet.
Great memories. You cannot diagnose a two year old with ADHD, if you were thinking of doing that. Four may even be too young. Some kids are active. Four out of six of mine are/were very active. The oldest is very slow acting now (he's 21). The almost ten year old is still pretty busy but I wouldn't say hyperactive.
Wish I had advice. My doctor told me to be happy, it could be worse. That put it into perspective for me.
