How to deal with a snoring roommate?

My BF snores like a chainsaw. :sad2: I can not sleep with earplugs in my ears because they irritate me. :snooty: So, I usually sleep with 3 box fans and an AC unit... and he still keeps me awake if he falls asleep first.

Sometimes, he keeps me awake even if I take sleeping pills which just makes me feel more groggy in the AM.

So I was left with two options. Kick him to the curb and look for someone who doesn't snore :sad1: , take up drink heavily so that I pass out in a drunken stupod before bed each night  or... sleep in seperate rooms if he falls asleep before me :confused3 .

I love him, so I spend many a night on the couch. (and I STILL need two fans to block out the sound of the snoring 4 rooms away... )

that's my DH - the snorer.

he's in denial - insists he doesn't snore.

whatever....

bring earplugs.

I have heard that wearing pjs with a small pocket sewn on the back where you place a tennis ball will make the sleeping person stay on their side- not roll onto their back. Sleeping on your back is the position where most snoring occurs. Haven't tried this but have thought of it on many sleepless nights.

Actually, my BF snores regardless of which position he sleeps in. So I don't think this is always the case.

I am a very light sleeper...even when I'm all alone in a nice quite place, I have to take Benedryl nightly just to stay asleep. It's virtually impossible for me to sleep with my snoring DF. He says that he's tried the nose strips before but he can't stand anything on his face. The only peaceful sleep I got was when he had the flu and the medicines knocked him totally out and were maybe reducing some of the nasal swelling.
I'm leaning toward separate bedrooms after we're married...I love him:hug: , but I gotta get my sleep.
