DH and I love to travel although most of our vacations have been within 5 hours or caribbean cruises. I love Disney but he has yet to understand the magic. Has anyone else had to convince their spouse and how did they do it?

A couple of thoughts? Does he golf? Disney has some nice golf courses.

And of course, after an enjoyable round of golf, there are some wonderful restaurants at Disney, both in and out of the parks.

My husband and I were the same way. The only vacations we had ever done were Caribbean cruises, in state trip, or to Ohio to see my family. I had been to Disney before and I truly believed he would enjoy it. I just explained to him how much I wanted to go and how much I wanted to experience the magic with him. He reluctantly agreed to go. I booked the trip for Christmas because he LOVES Christmas time and I figured I would take any extra help I could get lol. He ended up LOVING Disney and insisting we try to go back every year. That was in 2010, and we've since gone back last year, and are planning our Christmas trip for 2012...and now he's even seeing if we can swing a Spring trip!.

I had this problem also. Like the previous post I told my husband that it would mean a lot to me to go. I booked during free dining and chose some really great table service meals and researched all of the best counter service and snacks. I also booked a Keys to the Kingdom Tour at Magic Kingdom. We went late September at the beginning of The Epcot Food and Wine Festival and during the Fall decorations. We went to the Halloween party also. I think the free dining hooked him in. He loved the tour and all of the history behind Disney. It was not very crowded. Now he is the one suggesting we go again.

Sorry to piggy back on your thread. I had the same problem but just convinced my DH to go this October and am really excited. I've been planning since the beginning of the year when I convinced him how much it would mean to me (aka semi forced by ordering the planning DVD, dropping hints and the likes :)) My problem is now how to plan it so he would come to like (if not, love) Disney! Any suggestions?

What really got my DW hooked was EPCOT. She enjoyed MK but she absolutely loved World Showcase. The food, the shopping, and the drinks. We've drank "Around the World" twice. It's prolly our favorite thing to do...

I also think that once I got her there and she saw how happy I am there it made it her happy. Is she a fanatic like me? no, but at least now she'll listen to me ramble
