How to check Availability?

I am looking to rent DVC points for a vacation ....details removed.....

How can I find out if there is availability for ....details removed.....
Can I call up even if I am not a DVC member?

The online booking at Disney will let me pay for a same period but I don't know if that means there is availability.

There is no way for a non-member to check what is available. Only members can call MS to find out.

Online booking inventory is not the same as DVC inventory.

You should visit the rent/trade board, find an owner renting points and then give them your preferred dates, view, etc... Try to be flexible. Give a backup to ...details removed....., if you are so inclined. If you give your info, the owner can call and check availability pretty easily.

Cash inventory is totally different, so don't assume that there is availability with points if there is with cash. However, that's a pretty slow time so you will find availability; just be flexible. Maybe a split stay....

Several posts were edited to remove specific details. While general questions about renting DVC points are allowed, the DIS does not allow rental requests or offers anywhere except on the Rent/Trade Board. That includes posts that could be construed as as rental (even though I'm sure that is not what the OP intended).

Please read all of the Sticky Threads at the top of that forum before posting anything on the Rent/Trade Board.
