Call me crazy- but I think I want to spend my 40th at WDW...does anyone have any ideas/thoughts about where and what in WDW?? (Sept. 16th- Husband, my mother, me and 4 kids ages 10 to 6...)

Call you crazy, on the DisBoards? I don't think so ;)

Will you be staying on site? Deluxe, mod or value?

Are you familiar with the dining and ticket options?

Crazy??? Sounds like a fantastic idea!! Get a custom birthday T-Shirt made from Zazzle.com and make yourself an amazing ADR for your birthday dinner!

I am planning a birthday trip for me in Dec. Go for it ! I might even think of that for my 40th in a couple of years. Make sure you get birthday button .
Have fun.

:dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :cheer2: A birthday boat would be nice to watch the fireworks cruise or wishes.

I'm going for my 48th in October. Just hubby and I and the food and wine festival (never been to the festival) Not sure about the plans for the day.

We celebrated my DH's in December a few years ago and this is what I planned (he had no idea)
Went to city hall and got him a birthday badge. He got happy birthday's from cast and guests all day long
Went on the keys to the kingdom tour(lunch is included)(our DDs were 16 and above at the time)
No one can remember where we went for dinner, but it must have been at MK
Fireworks cruise leaving from the contemporary. This ended up being the part he mentions first when we talk about that day. There were just the 4 of us and our driver and she was great. Our dds were close to her in age and they talked alot as we cruised Bay Lake and 7 seas lagoon on a beautiful starlit night. We parked for the fireworks, could here the music and it was wonderful. She cruised us all around again and when we parked tried to refuse the tip saying she had a great time too. She hugged our dds like they were old friends. I told her to please take the tip we knew she wasn't getting rich working for the mouse. It was a wonderful, calm, peaceful evening.

Happy Birthday!!!

I've got a quote for the conciege level at the polynesian or tower room at the contemporary....would include meal plan......which resort would be better and do you need the conciege level with the dining plan????

:dance3:  You do not need to book a conciege level. The meal plan gives you a character meal, snack, and food from a counter spot everyday for all of your members. The conciege level does not give you any meals like this. They give you a contineal breasfast and snacks. Depends where you stay what you will recive. Of course you will have a nice room and a great view.

Have a wonderful time :cheer2: :cheer2: :dance3:

I turn 40 ten days before you!!! I'm going to Disney in November!!!

HAPPY 40th!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Staying on a monorail hotel is a great way to Splurge!! I like both the Poly & Cont-- but thought the Poly was more relaxing-- loved the beach there.

HAVE A GREAT TRIP!!

so if the poly conciege level is about $1200 more and the meal plan is included during the fall special- would you just save your money and stay at the cont?? Are the tower rooms as nice there as the poly conceige level?

Happy birthday, I will be celebrating my 50th at the World just a few days prior to you. (10th of Sept) We are staying at the POFQ. Last year we were there during that time and I had always wanted to see the Hoop De Doo Revue, we had free dining so we got to do this as well. 6 people age 4 to 49. It was wonderful. Just think of something special you would like to do. When I made plans for this time the CRO mentioned staying at the Deluxe and the price was 1500 more. I said no thanks POFQ is great and I can get alot of birthday presents for the 1500. HAVE A GREAT ONE. I can think of no better place to celebrate. Be sure to get your birthday button at Guest Services in the parks when you go. It was so nice to have everyone wishing you a Happy Birthday and the special phone call at City Hall in MK from Goofy wishing me a happy birthday was great. :sunny:
