How to book?

I am planning our vacation for New Year's '06 and am curious as to how you all book your reservations (travel agent, USO site, etc.). The rates straight from the Universal Orlando site seem extremely high. If you used a travel agent of some sort, who did you use? I used Dreams Unlimited to book a Disney World/Cruise vacation last year, and would love to be able to find a travel company similar to this one.

I think most people book direct. And, yes, the rates are high. You can also book thru AAA, hotelkingdom.com, expedia.com, travelocity.com, and orangevacations.com

Just make sure you read their payment/cancellation policies because they all vary slightly.

I recommend you call the Loew's reservation line directly and tell them the discounts for which you qualify and let them tell YOU the best rate. For example, I let them know I was a Loew's card holder, Entertainment card holder, gov. employee, etc. The woman asked if I was a Florida resident and when I said "no, but CLOSE- I live in Georgia" she told me it was the same as the Florida rate. Maybe Alabama is the same too? Never hurts to ask!

Good luck!
