How to book FP's

This will be our second trip since FP has come into existance. I had no problem booking all of the FP's for an 8 day trip last year. However, this time DS will be coming with his family. He will arrive on Wed leave on Mon we will be there on Fri and leave the following Sat. I don't know how book FP's because they will be there before us and leave before us. Can I link us together in his MDE account but only book for him on the days he is there without us and can I book FP's for us on the days after he leaves? I'm thinking it will be easier to just book his on his MDE and then ours on our MDE and hope we can get matching times for the days we are there together. Any suggestions?
