How to book dining times with multiple cabins

We are on the Oasis in June - just couldn't stomach the DCL prices for Europe. Have not sailed RCCL since 1997.

There are 6 of us total. My family of 4 in two cabins and another couple (our friends.) Does anyone know how we make dining reservations so we can all eat together? My travel agent is in Europe at the moment so I can't ask her. My friend and I were hoping to hop online tomorrow and make some reservations.

We have 2 cabins booked and I was able to link our friends to us on the cruise planner and then made my time dining reservations for the 4 of us each night at the same time. We are not doing any specialty dining but imagine it must work the same way too. I hope this helps.

This is helpful - thanks.

Yup... link the other room to urs. Then go ahead and make ur choices, ( dining/shows) being sure all names show. And remembering to go thru all the final pages. You should get thru the page asking for an email to confirm. Then check on your calendar which will show you what you reserved, times and all parties included.
Enjoy ur cruise!

And of course, there is a problem linking my two cabins together. (Bangs head to desk.) So on hold with customer service I go...

Oh no! Hate when that happens but now that I think about it I might have had to do the same thing to ensure our two cabins were linked!

I'm missing my Disney service. Been on the phone with RCCL for 30 minutes. I keep telling the representative what I'm doing - she says "hold on" - then comes back and tells me to try again. After 4 times of her doing this, it's still not working. She has no idea what is wrong. So yay...o_O

Is the issue just with your two cabins or that of your friends as well? I've never done MTD so I've no real advice on that part. It could be that your TA needs to do something on her end to fix this. Hopefully not.

If you call into the service line again, I think you should ask to escalate. 30 minutes is a long time for level 1 support to be trying to fix a problem, so you need to be bumped up a level.

I don't know if this will affect your other reservations. I'd guess shows should be popping up soon, and you should - in theory - be able to reserve a time and link everyone to your reservation. Same with specialty dinners.

I am sailing on Anthem in July with 2 other couples. We all have My Time Dining. I was able to go in on the cruise planner, when I input "6" as the number of diners, and then I think I input their reservation numbers. We were all linked and then when I went into other days, they were already listed and I just selected them. I am not sure why you are having issues, but saying you miss DCL because of this is sort of silly. I have taken 9 DCL cruises and had plenty of issues online!

Saying that my frustrations are silly isn't very nice. I still can't make any dining reservations after another 2 hours on the phone with RCCL. My accounts are linked but we are unable to make any reservations. If I wasn't fully paid right now, I would cancel. Their service has been terrible.

So FINALLY I get some answers via my travel agent - thankfully she doesn't leave for Europe until tomorrow and I was able to reach her.

The RCCL system is overwhelmed right now because the booking window opened. That is what is causing the account errors. None of the 3 RCCL customer service reps mentioned this to me. I did get entertainment done over the phone but it would have been nice to know that my account wasn't the issue.

I wouldn't be so sure that Disney IT is better. I still can't get the Disney website to recognize my Castaway club status. Tried on the phone and was then told IT would get to it in a few days. Luckily I didn't seriously want to book on opening day online.

And here I thought that people on the Royal site weren't as obsessive as those on the DCL site. But then again I've not done MTD. I sit corrected.

Glad you got it sorted out though. You can scratch that off your to do list.
