I understand they need a credit card. Is this just a guarantee or will they actually remove the funds if I use my debit card?

For a party of 6 that's a hunk of vacation cash!!

If you are on a DDP, they only take your cc info as a hold. No money is taken out unless you are "no shows" or you do not cancel in time-48 hours, I believe. We were a party of 9 at CRT so I can understand your concern for a party of 6-that is a lot of vacation cash! Our most expensive meal was Le Cellier, at over $400! Gotta love the DP! :upsidedow

I just booked CRT a few weeks ago for our January trip. We are on the DDP, but they took my credit card info and charged me the full amount (an actual charge, not just a hold). They said if we decided to use our DDP credits for CRT we could tell them there and they will credit back my card.

Hmmm....maybe things will be different with the 2008 plans? :confused3

we were told (when calling WDW last week) nothing is charged to the card ---- its only to hold and will be charged if a no show --- You need to tell them you are on the DDP ---

That's strange. When I called I told them we are on the DDP and the CM told me it doesn't matter, the whole amount is automatically charged (and it was). :confused3

I called today and was told the same thing full amount will be charged and then refunded after. I can only assume after you've eaten there and used your credits :confused3 The issue with this is 1. it's a lot of money and 2. Disney says it can and will take up to 2 billing cycles to credit your card!

I would call back again because you aren't supposed to be charged. I know in the past they have accidently charged my CC and I had to call back to get a refund.

For the 2007 or 2008 Dining Plan?

The problem I really have is we also are booking Princess Storybook breakfast so that is even more.

I just booked CRT for lunch about 2 weeks ago and I am on the 2008 Dining plan. They took my credit card number but did not charge it, they said if I don't cancel within 48 hours or are a no show then I would be charged. If you aren't on the dining plan they they charge the whole amount at the time of booking.

I just booked CRT for breakfast for 6 people and we are on the DDP, but paying for this meal out of pocket. So, in this case my credit card did get immediately charged the full $183.

I am booking our ADR'S on Sunday the 11th and not planning on getting charged for these since we have already "paid" for it with the DDP... which is what we were told when we called that we wont get charged

Hmm...I don't know. We have paid cash for all our princess breakfasts the past few years since the regular dining plan only gave you one TS meal per day and we used it for dinner. That's why I LOVE the deluxe dining plan!!

Anyway, Cindy's charged the full amount up front. Norway princess charged a believe $10 per person a head of time. In 2003 we used the "gold" plan which is now called the premium plan and because we were on that plan I believe they just took our credit card info in case we didn't show up or cancel ahead of time. I'm sure they change things all the time. Who knows what they are doing now?

We booked CRT for Feb. 2008 and we also were charged immediately for it. I even called as I thought it was weird to have to pay for a meal 6 months in advance! The cm I spoke to said because CRT is "the most popular" restaurant at WDW, this is their policy.

Called & booked both Cindy & Norway princesses for April 08 on the Deluxe dinning plan a few weeks ago. Did not get charged anything they just took my credit card # in case of no show or not cancelling in time. I would call back & make sure they understand that you have the dinning plan. That is a lot of money to put out.
