How to book a 9 night stay at the 11 month mark

I am fairly new to booking (third stay) and I have never tried to book a difficult reservation before. I now need a resort-view, wheelchair access room the week before Christmas and I’m sweating.

If I am staying 9 nights, do I book 7 nights at the 11 month mark and then book day 8 and 9 as individual night bookings once they open up? I was thinking that you then call DVC and have them merge the 3 bookings. Is that correct? I assume that if they are easy to get bookings you either wait until the phone lines open on the day you are able to book your 8th and 9th day or you just wait until all your days are available to book.

Am I on the right track?

Also, is it worth booking a couple days early just incase I don’t get the close-to-Christmas dates and need to move the trip?

Any tips are appreciated.

I booked seven nights and modified the next day to add one night to get my eight nights stay.

You can book your first 7 days at the 11 month mark, and then simply modify your reservation to add the 8th and 9th day 2 days later. So, today you can book December 12-19, and then on Jan 14 you can add December 19-21 by modifying.

My stays are usually for 10 or more nights, I book my first 7 days online the second the 11 month window opens, this blocks my villa from being booked by someone else for those 7 days. About 3 or 4 days later when all of my nights are w/in 11 months + 7 days, I call MS to add my last couple of nights. I know I could modify to add them online, but I prefer to call since my stays are during high demand times & I don’t want to mess up & lose my days .

You can modify the next day. For a separate reservation, you would have to wait until 11 months from day 8.
