I know, sounds like a stupid question right? We have never gone to the PPH.
For our upcoming trip I want to do a character breakfast that does not require a park entrance ticket as we will be doing this on our last morning before we leave. How do we access the PCH Grill character breakfast at Paradise Pier from our hotel on Harbour (HOJO)? lol Do we walk through downtown Disney or.....?

The breakfast is at the Paradise Pier Hotel which is not inside any of the parks - it is across the street from the Disney Grand Californian - you can either drive there and park or walk through DTD, depending on when you have your reservation this may require going through security - and then go through the GCH and then walk across the street to the PPH.

It will take you about the same amount of time to get from the HOJO to the center of the Esplanade as it will to get from the same spot to the PPH. So count on about 15 minutes of walking and anytime you might need to get through security. If your reservation is before security opens - say a 7AM on a 9AM regular opening then speak to them at security and they will let you cross the esplanade to reach your reservation.

I have done that walk before and found it unpleasant. I'd take a cab in the future. (and I'm way lighter and in way better shape than I was when I took that walk, but I'd still take the convenience of a cab!)

I wouldn't have an issue with the walk myself. But if you are going at a busy time for bag check I would defiantly uber it

Just a note, I've taken a cab form one side of the resort to the other (as you would need to) and it was only $10. I'm sure Uber is even less.
Considering the amount of time it takes to get through security in the morning I think it would be money well spent.

Thanks for the tips - while walking back wouldn't be an issue (hey, gotta walk off that food lol) if we want to make it on time (and we're lazy in the morning haha) then a taxi or uber sounds like a smart idea.

Just a quick note about cabs in the morning: most of them assume you're going to the airport early in the day. I once cabbed from the Sheraton Park to Paradise Pier during a split stay and they cabbie was REALLY rude to me about the fact that he'd taken such a cheap fare when it's - according to him anyway - usually business men on their way to the airport. He talked through the entire brief ride about how annoyed he was he'd taken the call from the Sheraton that morning and was only going to PPH. My favorite part was when he had the gall to give me his business card and asked me to call him specifically when I was going to the airport... Umm not a chance buddy! It was probably a one-off with a lousy driver but thought I'd throw that out there - might be less of a concern from the HOJO as it's definitely more family oriented.
