How strict is Disney....

when it comes to paying in full by day 45?

Here is my situation:

We are getting a new credit card, which should have been here by now but isn't. Our 45 days is today and wanted to use the new card to pay it off. I'm really hoping that it will be in the mail when I get home. I tried calling the credit card company to get the number, but they won't give me that information, which I can't really blame them for. If I don't pay it off today what happens with my reservation, which includes room, tickets and dining plan? Should I call and let them know the situation?

I hope this was the right place to post this.
 
I think you should just contact Disney. I think they will understand. GOOD LUCK....
 
I believe they will cut you some slack for a few days- just call them and explain your situation. They will put a note on your reservation.

I just noticed you were from Western NY. Wasn't the Bills loss monday night just heartbreaking. I think JP Lossom might be out of a job because the rookie quarterback, Edwards, is doing great!!
 

There has been many posts on this forum about Disney cancelling when not paying on a 45 day out reservation. Make sure and call right away and work it out.
 
My travel agent was out of town last week when our payment was due. She took the payment when she returned because she told us that Disney has a 2 day grace period policy before canceling reservations. I don't know if this is the case for those made on your own, but I thought I would pass it on.
 
Thanks for all the replies. I will call Disney as soon as DH gets home and checks the mail. I don't know what is taking so long. According to the CC company, it was mailed out on the 28th of September.

Actually, I hate the Bills as I'm a Dolphin fan. Please don't hate me.
 
Our $200 deposit was due Oct. 1, but we were planning to cancel the reservation because we had rebooked through a TA. I called Oct 4 or so and they had already cancelled the reservation because we hadn't paid by Oct 2. So it looks like they give you a day or two but I would call so they don't cancel it!

Make sure you get all of the CM's information you speak with and document it REAL good. You don't want to get canceled on accident if the CM fails to properly notate your account. Remember, you are bound by the reservation contract; not by what a CM tells you.

The terms and conditions verbatim from Disney:

"Final Payment - For reservations made 46 days or more prior to guest arrival, final payment is due to Walt Disney Travel Co., Inc. ("Disney") at least 45 days prior to guest arrival. "

Although '45' days is the listed cut-off, the magic # is 30. If not paid 30 days prior to check-in the package will automatically cancel.
