How Splendid is Splendid China

This place looks like a nice break from the hustle and bustle of WDW. I've passed Splendid China a few hundred times on past vacations and always wondered who actually went there.

But, now we are just looking for somthing different for our vacation. What do I need to know

I must admit to a real liking for SC, but it is the culture as much as the exhibits which do it for me. It is a very quiet place compared with other parks, but there is a lot of good explanation of the many and varied miniatures, and the shows are all very good (especially the big nightly Mysteries of China show). The food is so-so (unless you eat at the excellent Hong Kong Pearls), and it can be VERY hot, with few places to hide, in summer. It is worth investing in a guided tour also, as the park guides are extemely knowledgeable about China, the park and all the exhibits. It kind of fell into disrepair a few years back with a lack of investment, but the new management have made big strides to dity everything up and make sure this fascinating place is properly presented. I would make an afternoon and early evening of it (or an early morning and then return for the evening show in the height of summer).
