How soon to sailing for GTY room assignment?

I booked the NYE cruise on the Dream yesterday at a GTY rate. How soon will I know my room number? Today it says 7a so that is a start I guess?

Edited to add: I have been checking all day with no assignment. I checked tonight and the rooms had been assigned! It still says 7a down below but the rooms we got were CONNECTING 5a rooms!!! I am so so happy!!!!!!!

Really, it can be anytime from when you booked until you arrive onboard. But generally a regular GTY booking (such as 7A GTY, 11B GTY, etc.) are often assigned around 45 days out. The discounted bookings tend to be assigned *GT (IGT, OGT, VGT) are much closer to the sail date -- maybe 10 days. YMMV.

If you booked an actual GTY it is usually 50-55 days prior to your cruise

We got ours at 49 days out....wasn't quite ready at 50 days in our experience.
