I just made reservations for resort stay for November 10-17 for DS and his soon-to-be bride for their honeymoon. How soon should they try to book flights from LAX to MCO?

Southwest hasn't come out with flights for November, yet. I found some decent flights (nonstop) on Expedia, but I don't want them to "jump the gun" and book too soon.

Any advice would be great!! Thanks!

I bought our November flights in January with United. The short answer is buy when you see a price you think is ok for you. It helps to watch fares for awhile so you know what a good price is for your preferred airline and route. Check often but if you see a good fare don't delay, chances are it won't be there for long!

I just booked for our October Panama Canal cruise. We are flying into SNA for Disneyland from EWR, but we are returning
from Port of Galveston, so using George Busch Intercontinental to EWR. When you are flying home
same day of cruise you have some time constraints as far as time, so now I am comfortable with my return
time and price. Still worried but now I can stop looking. It sure is a game.

I booked with Virgin America, for a Dec 2 flight (9ish in the morning) LAX to MCO..non-stop, for $209 pp That was back in early Feb. I know what I'm comfortable spending...once I see a fare that is close to that amount, I book it.

There's no magic time. If you see a price on Expedia that's fine then try to book it on the airline's own site. There are fewer potential problems this way. Rare but they do happen.

Book when you see something you can live with. Most carriers are open except SW. So, if you don't need SW I would grab whatever looks good.

I booked our October flights the day Jet Blue opened their schedules. Prices were up within hours

With SW, book at 6am est on the morning they open the schedule for the remainder of the year, which is currently listed as May 14th (could be earlier like the last release date though) If the fare goes down, you can always switch and get the credit. For our Oct trip, I booked at 6am on the day they opened their fall schedule. Both of the flights I booked, non-stop to and from MCO, quickly sold out.

I booked MCO to LAX (my return flight) for November 11th for $178 per person with Virgin America. Still waiting for our departure flight to go down (with any airline other than Spirit). Looking to do a red eye November 5th/6th. So not interested in Southwest since they don't do red eyes.

Thanks for all the suggestions!

That's a great price! Do you check daily? I know DS likes to travel Virgin, but SW is nice in case of emergency cancellation (which I really hope isn't necessary!!).

I check EVERY DAY at least twice a day. When you're buying for 4 people $20-$30 makes a big difference! I love Virgin too. Unfortunately they don't do red eyes so I'll have to fly with another airline over there. If they're not picky with times you can get decent fares with Virgin when they have sales and they're all direct I believe.
