I am thinking about renting points for a trip in Dec 2009. When should I start looking into that?

You may want to look now........December can be a very busy time for DVC.

you will need to find an owner at the resort you want to book a stay at.

they won't be able to book anything until january 2009, but you'll want to have an agreement planned out before that.

depends on how long it takes you to find the right kind of owner and set things up.
