How soon before a trip...

do DVC members need to book the DDP if we decide to go with it? (still going back and forth trying to decide at this point! )

We aren't traveling until August, so I just wondered how long I have to make a final decision!

You need to add the DDP at least 2 to 3 days prior to checkin.

Wow-that's all? Cool! Although now I'll have that much longer to analyze the decision to death!

Oh well, there certainly are harder and less fun decisions to make in life than whether or not the DDP is smart for us, right!

Keep in mind you'll want to have ADR's in place well before you decide on the DDP. I'd go ahead and make them now assuming you will be on the plan, then call and cancel any you might not want if/when you decide not to get the plan.

Just a heads up for August though. IF you are traveling near the end of August, remember that it is during the free dining porgram for the hotels, and the dining plan will be AWFUL to get reservations. We actually hate to be there for that free dining plan, because it means you can never get any ressies.

We did the DDP during Spring Break/Easter week it was a little hard to get exactly what we wanted for our sit down meals but we managed. I really like the DDP we ate so much! I would definitely do it again.

You can always cancel them. THe best times and places go fast---even not so great book up these days.

Thanks everyone for your input!! I already did exactly what you suggested and have all my ADR's in place. I was surprised to get every one we wanted within 5 minutes of the time we requested, even on the days after free dining began.

I think we are leaning toward trying it, at least for this trip. We have never done it before, and we realize that they def. took away some of the value by eliminating app. and tip, but I think we'll realize at least some financial benefit even still.

I just have to say that I am LOVING these Disboards and the wealth of information I am getting from them!! Though I also have to say I am spending waaaayyyy too much time at the computer because of them!!
