how soon after booking can you use MDE?

We booked our next vacation with Disney on Thursday and I cannot link my booking on our MDE account-does it take a while to be available? I'm using the only number on the booking invoice-it ends in a /1-is that the correct number?
 
I was told idmendatly you may want to call disney and see what is up.
 
I'm fairly certain that all confirmation numbers are 8 characters long. They start with a number, three letters, then four numbers. I would double check there isn't another number in your email and then call
 
Did you book directly with Disney? If you booked through a third party you may need to contact them for the confirmation number.
 

I booked room-only for November just the other day and it linked itself (Booked directly with Disney). I didn't check until I read your post. My confirmation # is 12 digits long with no letters only numbers. Hope that helps?

Definitely nothing that long on our email-I'll give it until after the weekend and then call them-luckily we have a toll free number from the UK! Thanks for that help though. DH keeps asking how I did it last time we booked-well I can't remember, I get too excited!:rolleyes1
 
It is usually immediately. We got a 12 digit reservation number booking through a TA, but it can also be a mix of 8 numbers and letters. I'd call asap! I have always had it show up right away.
 
Disney confirmation #'s are 8 characters when booking directly through Disney. It will be a combination of letters and numbers. If you did it through the website, just login to your account and see if it is listed under "My Reservations." If it isn't there, call. It should immediately show up. If you booked over the phone, I would call now.
 
Room only reservations have a 12 digit number, no letters, even when you book directly with Disney. I believe the packages get a letter and number, maybe only 8 digits long. We haven't booked a package in a couple of years, so I don't remember for sure.
 
I booked with Disney and it never linked my reservation to MDE, even though they asked for my email information. I received the email confirmation and I entered it in MDE and then it was linked. The 12 number confirmation was in the email title as well as in the body of the email.
 
Our room only bookings have been 12 digits, all numbers. You have to log into MDE and add your reservation. If you add your confirmation number, and the information does not show, you should call Disney ASAP because something is not right. Has the deposit already posted to your cc?
 
Thanks to everyone and your suggestions-turns out its a much simpler answer and nothing worrying...Disney's room booking system doesn't open up until 499 days out and we are currently on 557 days out-I'm just too impatient!:rolleyes1
