I went to Babies R US today to shop for an upcoming girl baby shower. DAMN the person who bought the Baby Monitor, THAT'S what I wanted to get. :rotfl2: Since my desired gift was already purchased, I decided to buy a lot of the "little" gifts. Should I put them all in a big pink bag or place them all in one box and wrap it? I don't know how to make the tissue paper "fancy" when putting gifts in bags, so I thought of putting them all in a box. But first I thought I'd get some Disers opinions. Anyone? :confused3

Well, first, how to make the tissue fancy: loosely fold it in half (don't crease, just hold the tops of two sides together), then gently pull on the middle of the bottom and then stick bottom into the bag.

I like doing boxes or baskets that will match the nursery. Do all the little gifts have a theme (like all bath products, etc)? If so, the container could match the theme.

We just had a baby shower for DIL and my SIL bought a LOT of stuff - clothes, towels, washclothes, bibs, socks, etc. She bought a soft sided hamper (baby theme) and wrapped a few things together in tissue paper. Since we didn't know the sex she wrapped the presents in alternating tissue of green and yellow. Someone also bought a lot of bath things (towels, washclothes, baby wash, etc.) and put them all in a baby bath and covered it with clear cellophane. Another person bought a baby basket and put all of their gifts in that.

I like to use baskets or else something the recipient could reuse - bathtub, wagon, hamper, bucket(s), tote, etc. and then include tissue paper & wrap up in cellophane

I'd put it all in a cute basket, wrap w/ cellophane paper, & tie w/ some fluffy ribbon.

For a recent baby shower, I put together a "Bathtime Giggles & Bedtime Snuggles" Basket - bath book, towel, set of washcloths, bath toys, Johnson's Bedtime Bath, Johnson's Bedtime Lotion, a sleeper outfit, a storybook, a swaddler-size blanket, a larger blanket, & a stuffed animal. I arranged the items in a basket that matched the nursery, painted (using the nursery colors) & hotglued the letters of the baby's name on the front of the basket, wrapped it cellophane, & tied it w/ ribbons.

Perhaps try and find something useful to use as the box, like a plastic storage container or something. They come in different sizes, so I am sure you could find one the right size for the amount of stuff you bought, and with a baby coming, there is always some sort of use for a plastic storage container, regardless of the size.

Then you could just put a regular piece of tissue in it (like you would in a shirt box) put all the stuff inside, and wrap it like you would a shirt box.

Another way is to lay the tissue paper flat, pinch the middle between your finger and thumb, then make an O with your other hand and run the tissue paper thru the O. Both ways you end up with the same thing. Just trying to explain it another way. I'm a visual person, I usually need things explained a couple different ways.

I like putting lots of things in a container. I've put things in a bathtub. But you can use any type of container. The dollar tree sells a lot of different containers. A small laundry basket would be nice. Then just tuck tissue paper around things and put a bow on it somewhere.
