How should I proceed with transferring dvc ownership?

So my parents own dvc and unfortunately my mother passed this year. I’m looking for the best way to transfer it to me. My father has no real use for it anymore so I’m basically going to pay off the balance and resume ownership. If I remove both parents (original owners) and change the deed solely to me will I lose all benefits as a direct purchase from Disney and will this then be a resale? Or should I remove my mothers name and add mine, keeping my father on deed and thus still a direct purchase? I have the “REQUEST TO CHANGE TITLE”/ROFR waiver form but any other insight as to how to streamline this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

The easiest thing to do would probably be to remove your mom's name (since she is deceased) and add yours. I don't think you can remove your father if the mortgage isn't paid off, but MS can confirm that. You would retain all the benefits of a direct purchase, since this would be a gratuitous transfer between family members.

In general, you can pay a title company to do the paperwork (I recommend LT Transfers based on work they did for my family) or you can do it yourself (see this thread for assistance: https://www.disboards.com/threads/s...xisting-contract-gratuitous-transfer.3701707/).
