How should I get from AK to AKL on EMH day?

It's a Sat EMH and the bus seems like an obvious choice but I though I would get opinions. Normally, we do NOT use the bus because of our large double jogging style stroller. With AK so close when staying at AKL, between the hassle of the stroller and a potential 20 to 30 minute wait, its going to feel like we should just drive. (If the bus times were more specific like left at 7:30, 7:45, 8, etc I'd feel better about not having to wait but I've heard its "every 20-30 minutes".) My worry about driving is not so much that parking lot will be closed (think we are shooting for getting there after EMH push but before normal opening -- maybe enter park at 8:20) but that there will be a long line of cars to process to get into the park. [They really should have a resort guest lane since we only need to show parking permit where others have to take the time to pay.........]

Any opinions from you experts? Thanks.

Definately go with the Bus! On an EMH morning there should be plenty of service. You will just need to fold the stroller to board, I imagine.

As for driving, I imagine that your wait in line to get in to the parking lot, then the wait for the tram (where you have to fold the stroller too) would use up a lot more time than simply getting on the bus and going straight there. So maybe the bus will be a 15 min wait; it's still easier than getting to the car, driving, waiting to get into the parking lot (note: all resort guests on EMH mornings anyway), then parking, taking the tram then finally arriving at the gate. No thanks! I'll take a bus any day!

Driving to AK from AKL will definetly take you much longer. You'll still have to fold the stroller, unless you can fit it into your car, and want to hike into AK from the parking lot.

The buses run about every 15 minutes, not every 20-30. It's a 5 minute ride to AK.

Thanks for the info. Its not so much the folding of the stroller, it's lifting it up and finding room on the bus. Are the morning busses to AK from AKL real crowded? Is there an open spot on the bus that can accomidate the stroller?

Being an early entry, the morning might have a bit more crowds. But if you get there early enough, then you'll be fine. A couple things to note, though...

We now have over 115 low-floor buses. These buses feature no step entries, as well as super extra wide aisles. Your extra large stroller will fit with no problems at all.

With the standard floor RTS bus, I recommend the following. The back door is typically an exit-only door. However, if you ask nicely, the driver will open it, and allow the person with the stroller to board through the back. The only thing we ask is that you wait your turn in line, the stroller is already folded, and only the person with the stroller enters through the back... everyone else enters through the front.
