We are wanting to take a cruise by the end of this year but are waiting on a check from DH's employer and we are not quite sure when we will get it. So how late is to late to book a cruise. I mean if we want to take the Dec 4 cruise, what is the absolute latest that we could book it? I know there is documents that are mailed to you that need to be fill out for departure. Can you tell we've never cruised before. TIA

If there are cabins available and you can take time off quickly, I don't know that there is a time limit. You can always pick your docs up at the port I believe.

You can definitely pick up docs at the ports. There was someone on cruise chat with me who was doing just that. I believe that the closer the time, (within the last month or so), the cheaper the price you can get. There are cruise clearance type people who specialize in this. A friend of mine routinely gets these notices, and did say that DCL is almost never on there (at least not the 7 days).

Good luck!

I would call DCL and check the availability, but we've books just a couple weeks in advance before....

You will never see Disney Cruise Line on any sort of last minute special list. They simply don't have the inventory to cut prices. They don't have to, the ships go out full nearly every cruise. You may be able to book for Dec 4 now, but it will be close...don't expect a lot of choice in the stateroom cat or the location...and be ready to not get 6pm dining.

We went in August, we booked on Friday and went left on Thursday. Since you are in Florida, you will be able to get any FL Res rates. Have fun, you will LOVE IT!

There is now a time limit, though I do not recall what it is (this was discussed on a thread a few weeks ago about last minute deals and just showing up at the port). Post September 11, DCL must provide a passenger list to the Department of Homeland Security and cannot allow passengers to be added to the list after it is provided. If I am remembering correctly, it is about 48 hours prior to the cruise that the list needs to be provided.
