This is only my second time on the Universal post so if this has been gone over before I am sorry. For years I have wanted to go to Halloween nights at Universal. We came to WDW 3 years ago and in Oct. and I could not bring myself to go. The reason is the show they did on the travel channel all about the Halloween Horror events. I LOVE and live for scary things (always wanted to open my own haunted house) but the travel channel show made it look SOOOOOOOO intense I do not think I could handle it. Did anyone else see it? Is it in fact that scary?:scared1:

Well how to answer that? It isn't scary to me but DW would disagree,I'm too busy trying to take in all the visual effects.I think that it may be alot scarier if you went thru' the Houses all on your lonesome but you can normally see or hear when people are getting scared because in most houses you are following the person in front like a sheep!:rotfl: I would say it's all down to your scare factor,I would class HHN as a make you jump scare as opposed to a terrify you scare (hope that makes sense!).To give you an idea we took DS (13) but 6 at the time & he loved it!:scared1:
Go for it! SD:thumbsup2

Then welcome back to the darkside:thumbsup2
HHN is pretty intense. But if you like scary things, this should not effect you!
We waited till our kids were of age. DD17 is the scardey cat of the family. And DS14 loves horror movies..We ask them if they wanted to go last year, and everyone was like YES!! But when we hit the front gates, they were having 2'nd thoughts. After the 1'st house they were hooked, and asking when we are going back:thumbsup2

In my opinion you will be fine!:thumbsup2

agree, it is intense.

i would disagree on taking any children under the age of 16 to hhn.
besides the fright factor, the sky cap girls are something else to understand.

kwim???

the travel channel has run that hhn film many times.
yes, that is what hhn is all about.

i go solo on most of the nights.
it can be a scare but i seldom get spooked in the houses.
i'm just not the type to get afraid of things that go "boo" in the dark.......

it all depends on the person.

rent some horror flicks and if you can sit through them without nightmares, then you would do fine at hhn.

If you can deal with the Saw series, you can do HHN

Thanks all! I think i will give it a try. Going to late this year but maybe 2009!

If you love and live for scary things, believe me it is for you!! Yes, it is intense, but it also follows the typical rules, i.e. no one will touch you etc. They really do get in your face tho', sneak up from behind, and generally terrorize you, and there is plenty of guts and gore (Jack's show in 2007...whew! My shirt was spattered with blood).

I was born in Oct. so I've always loved haunted houses, and DH and I would travel all over Northern IL visiting them. We did our own haunted house for trick or treaters. If you're that sort of person, HHN is perfect for you.

i took my daughter last year and she was only 13, we are going back this year she will be 14 and is just excited about it as the rest of us. i didnt see anything that would have been out of the ordinary. if you kids watch horror movies then they should be fine. i hate horror movies and i was fine.
