How scary is Sci-Fi?

It depends on what your kids are like. We went when my oldest had just turned 9, youngest was 4 1/2. The 9 yr old was terrified, wouldn't eat, etc. 4 1/2 yr old was fine, movies didn't phase her at all. My oldest is now 19yrs old and STILL refuses to go back. She's in college now and we just did a trip without her with our youngest, DD14. We decided it was the perfect time to go to Sci Fi Dine in Theater. DD14, DH, and I had a great time. DD14 doesn't understand why her sister thought all the movies were scary, she thinks they're funny--but you never know what kids will be scared of.
