How scary is HP's FJ ride?

You go through a series of rooms. You are between 10 and 20 feet off the ground and you vary. However, you never see the ground so you really don't realize how high up you are.

How fast does it go ?? And how long is the ride ??

As was mentioned it depends on what you define as "scary." We went on it last summer and DH and DS(11) and DS(14) LOVED it and thought it was one of the best rides they ever went on. They ended up using single rider to go multiple times.
DD(7) didn't like it, but she was OK. I have a feeling that she will end up liking it when she is a little older.
My experience was completely different. I am fine with coasters and motion simulators and the like, but hate things that jump out at me. (I avoid Dinosaur at WDW.) I also hate spiders. The combination was just too much for me and even though my eyes ended up closed for about 3/4 of the ride and I did my best to block out all sound, I was terrified! I actually ended up bursting into tears when the ride was over. I haven't cried over a ride since I was a kid!

Thank you for sharing your story as I been on a see-saw about this ride.:scared1:

I absolutely will NOT do rollercoasters but I LOVE Soarin' and Dinasaur at WDW!! I think as long as there are no sudden huge drops I will be fine I am less sure about the family who freaked on Dinasaur and most wont do HM!!!

My kids and I all love thrill rides and have ridden FJ 7 times so far in our two visits, and each time we ride we all remark on how intense this ride is....and we love it! Universal is so unlike any other park we have ever been to in the way the thrill is all encompassing. You feel the chills, you smell certain smells, you are misted or sprayed with water or it gets super hot all around you and things are always coming at you. It is amazing but only if you are into that kind of thrill. Our first trip last year was to both WDW and UO/IOA and although we loved everything WDW, our adrenaline junkie needs were definitely met at UO/IOA. Let your kids do some of the dark rides at WDW first to see how they react. It worked for my DD 10 last year and by the time we got to FJ later in our trip, she had built up to it all week and LOVED it. :) Have a great trip. :)
