I did a search and I couldn't find any posts of anyone describing HHN.
I'll admit, I'm a chicken, but I would like to experience HHN. How scary is it? Is it gruesome, gory or do people just jump out at you?

Thanks

Yes to all three.

The haunted houses have people that often jump out at you. Some of the rooms in the houses have gory/gruesome scenes, such as mad doctors ripping the guts out of a still "living" patient, "dead" animals, etc.

The scary factor all depends on you and how well you handle things that are creepy/scary. Generally, HHN should feel like this to you:

:wave2: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :rotfl2:

LOL. I think I'll pass then.

OKAY. Ummm... that was interesting. Now I KNOW I'm not going. :sad2:
The music on the site was too much.

Maybe one day I'll stop being a grown a** fraidy cat. :)

We enjoyed it ~ It certainly was different from MNSSHP which we did earlier in the trip.

Looking forward to going next year.

Cmon girl, its just a show, there's nothing to be really afraid of, its kinda like watching a horror movie in person, (like universal is ride the movies) HHN is live the horror movies in a way. Just keep in mind nothing bad is going to happen to you, its all make believe, no one is really chopping somebody up or anything, its just all good fun. Sorry I just don't understand what there is to be afriad of, to me being afraid is only something that can occur if it is real, or there is real danger. Knowing that it is all for fun, makes it to where I don't get the least bit scared and just marvel at how they do some of the tricks and special effects, but I know everyones different. Just hate to see you miss out on something so cool.

oohhh I like that website, the music was scary!!!
I want to go to HHN, but i think i'll have to wait quite a few years, my kiddos are way too little for that.

I would like to go. I may have to have a glass of wine and a massage before going though. :rotfl:

It's funny because one year I worked at a Haunted House. I loved scaring people, but I DO NOT LIKE to be scared.

The Scareacters at HHN can't touch you, if that's any consolation. :teeth:

HHN is NOT for the faint of heart. Think chainsaw-wielding freaks chasing you through cornfields and you've got the right idea as regards the entertainment OUTSIDE the 'haunted houses'. It only gets worse when you get inside.

But that's the fun of it! :thumbsup2

Universal is second to none when it comes to really scaring the pants off of you and making Halloween one Heck of a thrill. Leave the kiddies at home (leave the under 15's at home, while you're at it.........!). This one is definitely for the heartier adults in the crowd.

PS: The funniest thing I ever saw in a theme park was during a Media event at HHN. We were escorted around by a Universal guide, and one of the men from the UK media, who was not otherwise a serious wussy, absolutely fell to pieces every time someone jumped out at him in the haunted houses. I mean, he LITERALLY dropped to the floor screaming, EVERY TIME! Just hysterical. And at the end of the night he proclaimed HHN a real highilight of his trip.

That's the spirit!! What's the point of halloween anyway if you don't get a good scare somewhere!! You'll be fine! And just think when that chainsaw weilding maniac takes off your left arm, you can say, "hey I didn't need that arm anyway"!!! Just kidding!!!!!!

check out the videos from the past years...http://www.halloweenhorrornights.com/

Universal has been making horror films for nearly a century. they pull out all of their tricks to scare the hell out of you, that's why it's so fun.

OK- I must be doing something wrong! :confused3 I looked all over the website and could not locate the videos. I saw the museum for the different years but not videos. Plus nothing woul dhappended when I clicked on the recent years file cabinets - 2003-04, 2005-06. I would like to share them with DS14 to see if he wants to try HHN.
Any help is appreciated! TIA!

yeah me too and I thought I already had the video player on my computer that would run that, but don't know, gotta have some kinda program I guess.

go to the behind the screams section. they've only unlocked the first 4 drawers from the early years so far. click on the videotape cases for the videos.

Found them! Thanks!!! DS14 is on the fence! He wants to go but only for the daylight hours!!! It looks like so much fun. Now I am really anxious!

WHOA!! Okay...I dunno. I may be looking into the daylight hour event. That "thing" wouldn't be scary to me in the daylight. But, when the lights go off, I'll be looking for some arms to jump in. :rotfl2:

One objection to that:

If you have a lot of difficulty seeing in the dark (macular degeneration, glaucoma) or extremely bothered by being touched by strangers. I know some people who can't go into ANY haunted house (with the exception of dark rides) because of how they react to being grabbed or touched.

I don't like being grabbed or touched.
