How scary is Everest?

I am glad the OP asked this question also. We are going in Dec. and I like to have some sort of idea of what a ride is going to be like and the kind folks on the Disboards are always ready to help. I too feel sometimes like I am going to be ejected from a ride and things do scare me. It is only normal. Just knowing that I am going to be "back where I started in a few mins." doesnt help a fear issue. Fear is normal and it has many different levels. Some people are more scared about things than others, but it is still normal. Orljustin needs to move on. Comments like his are not needed. Sometimes a general question prompts more answers. Its a public forum and people should be able to ask what they like without being chastised.

ORLJustin,
You are a bit on the harsh side. That is not how things work here.. This is a happy place.

AMEN to that!! :thumbsup2 I was wondering if anyone thought it would be scary for children? I have a 6 year old DD that LOVES roller coasters...she loves space mountain, but I'm worried the Yedi might scare her and make her not want to ride? Has anyone had their DD or DS ride and love it? Or were they scared?

you're in the final yeti room maybe 5 or 6 seconds. we never saw any child come off the ride openly afraid. he's more of a surprise than anything to be scared of. then you're back outside.

I too was needing information about EE. I have always been an avid thrill ride fan, but as I age my body cannot tolerate some things. RnR Coaster was awesome the first few years. I do not tolerate the initial takeoff any longer. I tried once again last year, hoping my physical status had somehow changed, but will not ever make another attempt. I am very thankful to hear that EE does not start as abruptly, and therefore, I will ride in May. Until I heard that particular info, I was not going to try. Thank you all for your concern for others, like me, who need to know!

Debbie :woohoo:

It is a great ride. The one thing to know first is that it doesn go backwards. My sister wasnt ready for that and freaked a little lol.... but she is only 9! I was a little nervousn the first time because I knew the huge Yeti would be in there somewhere... I just didnt know where. I dont like things to pop out of me aka Dinosaur at AK. He doesnt jump out so all was good. Some parts are in the dark but it isnt scary. You should be fine .
