How scary are crowds 1st wk aug?

We've never been peak but have heard terrible stories. This maybe the only chance we have to take our neice. Is it worth it?

It's all in how you look at it. Will it be crowded? Yes. But, I would rather be in Disney with the crowds than not at all. If it's the only time you can go, then go. If you can choose another date I would do that. Have fun.

We went the first week of August last year... and our family of 7 (5 kids) did not think it was bad at all. We took my husband's kids from his first marriage. We had a wonderful time and plan to go again in 2007. We went in the end of July 2004... hot but not bad with crowds... I would suggest getting a misting fan and take some extra water and enjoy the parks... Enjoy the magic!!! We do!!!!

I would go if I was you!
We all went in August All 7 of us all so and we had a blast. We brought some water misters.. And we enjoyed every second of it!!!!
So who cares if theres crowds, Go and enjoy the magic!! And threw a childs Eyes they don't see the crowdsthey just see FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks everyone! We went ahead and booked for July30-Aug5. I called the disney number and talked to a cm and she says It's not as bad as I was thinking. I feel much better now. Thanks again.
