Hi

we are staying in Paris for a week and leaving Saturday, we are thinking of going into Disney paris for a day (done Disney paris a few times so this time only want to go in for the day.

We have travelled between Disney and paris before on the train and has gone ok but this was always during daytime hours.

I have noticed that Disney is open till 11pm now, if we were to stay that late to watch the closing illuminations is it safe for two women to travel via train alone into paris (we are staying at a mercure hotel near the arc du triomphe).

Or would we be better to go back in a taxi from Disney, any ideas how much this will cost?

it is as safe as you would expect in a large city.
If you feel safe enough to do that kind of trip on the Tube in London at 11pm, then it won't be any different on the RER.

Just don't look too much like a tourist. Try not to doze off during the trip, pickpockets love sleeping targets, and keep all valuables out of sight, and preferably in a zipped up and locked compartment of your bag.
You'd be amazed at how many tourists have their iphones sticking halfway out of their back pocket.
Disney shopping bags are also very telling of where you come from.

Remember that the trip will only be as safe as you allow it to be. (visible cameras, iphones, ipods and other valuables, can be a good way to ask for trouble)

it will cost anywhere between 75 and 120 euros (one way) depending on the traffic, day of the week (sundays are more expensive), and time of day (night fare is not the same as day fare)

I second everything that Chmurf said and I will add that the last RER A (I suppose, if you're staying near the Arc, you'll take the RER at Charles de Gaule/Etoile) to go back to your hotel is, approximately, at 00:15pm.

Agree with the previous two posts, my girlfriend and I travelled back on the last RER from DLP to Paris with no problems/intimidations whatsoever. It's fairly quiet on there at that time of night but still folk around to make you feel safe.
