My DS(9) is dying to do this slide when we go in August. He is a peanut. He does weigh over the height limit and is 50" now barefoot, but only weighs 50 lbs. Is this anything to be concerned about or if he has the nerve let him go for it. Needless to say my DH will be escorting him onto this slide as there is no way I'm going down. LOL!

Nothing to worry about. My YDS was 5 when he was finally tall enough and he wasn't anywhere near 50lbs. It is perfectly safe but you do have to lay back and stay back, no leaning forward, so if your DS can follow strict instructions regardless of his possible fear, he will be fine.

Despite my terror, I have done it and you have to be ready for a nose full of water and your suit trying to exit through your head on this slide. I think the lighter you are, the less painful it is as my kids enjoyed it while I was in pain and panic trying to keep my suit on.

A long as he can follow the instructions to stay laying flat with arms and legs crossed he will be fine. If there is ANY chance he will panic and sit up then he should wait.

And tell him to be prepared for the biggest wedgie of his life.

Totally safe. I've been on similar slides where it felt like you could fall off the side. Not so with Summit Plumet :thumbsup2

My DH and DS10 are chomping at the bit to try this out this summer.....I on the other hand will be waiting back at the umbrella for a full report. :)

Yep, very safe. Although from a distance it doesn't appear so, the sides are actually quite high; it's pretty much a trough until it flattens out.

The males in my family prefer to wear jammers when they go down this slide ... minimizes the wedgie aspect.

We went last summer, DDs were 11 & 9. Both said they were going to do summit plummet but chickened out. We did all go on the 2nd tallest one though, the one w/the 2 hills. both of them were tall enough but stick thin.. DH went first and then the girls then me. He said both of them were flopping around. They did have fun though. Only complaint was the water in their face the whole time. Your DS will be fine. Have fun.
