On thing that was different about the YOAMD dreams were that the CMs generally did NOT select the guests they were giving them to...they were actually told by a computer where to be at what time and who should be chosen - i.e. Expedition Everest, first train returning after 10am, or 3rd showing of PhilharMagic, or the 42nd guest exiting FOTLK...there were a few exceptions to this though.
SITS, JTA, and Miyuki were all CM-selected, and now none of them are (with SITS basically non-existent). Parade selections aren't done as obviously, and "waiting patiently for the next show" doesn't work for those.
A year ago my kids got selected for something we didn't even know about - we were at 1900 Park Fare for the first dinner seating, and were a bit early. We were the second family to check in - the first one was a rather large group. But after we checked in, a CM approached my kids - not the first family's kids - and asked if they could help open up the place. The CM did a little announcement, and my kids opened the doors - to see Cinderella and Prince Charming coming to greet them! They got to spend a few moments exclusively with them, and we also got a table where we were the first to be greeted by each character.
Now, I actually wondered at one point why we were chosen, and not the family that was ahead of us...I think it was because they were a much larger family, and the table we were at was a table for 4...but still the CM had some part in the selection.
Will we hear stories about parents complaining that their kids didn't get selected to open 1900 Park Fare, or is that far enough under the radar? After all, I hadn't heard about this before...
