Hey :)

going on our first cruise on the disney dream on april 20th 2015.. yay :)

now im just looking at the deck plans and getting excited but its also got me wondering.. how quiet is the quiet cove pool area for adults only? it shows that the donald pool is on the other side.. so i imagine it must not be actually very quiet? but at the same time i realise the ship is 3 football fields in lenght so there might actually be more space between the two than i think.

what has been everyone's experience about this? is it quiet or can you hear lots of screaming from the donald pool?

Thanks :)

I remember there was live music in the adult pool area during the day, that was in 2012. :rockband:

thats even better than quiet! :) lol and definetely better than hearing the screams of the kids at the donald pool :)

We've found it to be pretty quiet -- aside from the occasional raucous group of adults! We were surprised by how much quieter it is forward of the forward funnel. You can't even hear the funnel vision, much less kids in the Donald pool. Kids do walk through on occasion on the new ships, on their way from the forward elevators to the pool area or Cabanas, but we didn't find that to be an issue for us.

I remember the live music one day and it was great. I think it was when we were in Nassau. The little bit of annoyance was the whir of the blenders at the bar - but that is a happy annoyance. One day I was on the sun deck (12) that over looks the QC pool and the maintenance team was buffing the funnel. Again, more gentle whirring.

Never heard anything other than the laughs of adults, live music and bar noises. It was so peaceful not to hear kids screaming and hollering after dropping mine off at the lab. You'll enjoy it I'm sure

I just got off the Dream 4-night last week. The quiet cove pool was very crowded to the extent that we didn't actually get in it. 18+ is still in the "spring break" age range and spring break has apparently started.

That being said, the Rainforest room was silent and perfect for lounging. I have very small children so I only made it once, but it was very relaxing with heated loungers and 2 small hot tubs. There were 2-3 other people in the rainforest area late morning on my sea day, and 0 other people when my husband went the afternoon of sea day. The only places on the ship that I would describe as quiet were the Rainforest room and the deck 4 walking/jogging deck. There may be other areas I didn't come across, but the cove pool wasn't one of them (at least not during the day).

The coffee shop, Cafe Cove, is between the two pools. It is quiet from children, although there is sometimes music. It is generally peaceful though.

We found the Quiet Cove pool area to be very nice. I do not recall hearing screaming children only the band, other adults, and the whir of the blender making those oh so tasty drinks. We very much enjoyed our time lounging in the Quiet Cove.

That depends on who is at the pool at the time. I have seen the adult pool area just as rowdy as the kid pool in the past.

Agree with PPs...on a nice day at sea, the pool can be pretty filled. And with the blenders and what not, it can get a little noisy.

Until...

You walk around the corner and into the "Family" Zone toward the Donald Pool. THEN, you hear the roar that is a cruise ship full of screaming, splashing children and their harried parents.

You turn back around quickly and return to the Quiet Cove pool, which is all of a sudden very, very quiet.

This was a HUGE issue with our last cruise. You want some quiet time to read a book, relax, look at at the ocean, and BLAM!!! They have a 2 hour singing session on the deck of Quiet Cove! And this involves all 3 decks as there are speakers on every deck that are filling the airwaves with music. If I wanted noise, music, family time I would go to the family area and enjoy it. So words of advise... Don't be conceived by the clever name, sometimes you don't get it. We watched 50% of the folks sitting there get up and leave. We followed and went to sit in our stateroom! So disappointing.

It's not a library; it's a pool with a bar. It just doesn't have any kids running around nor any loud Disney movies in the background....

Speaking of libraries...head into the Cove Cafe. That place is whisper quiet.

Wayyy too small of an area to enjoy relaxation and quiet .... Packed and VERY poorly conceived area around pool. It's a stretch to even call that tub a pool at all on dream class which I assume you are talking about

Any of the Pool or Deck areas windy?

only been on one cruise a very low grade carnival 3 nighter in college and the entire pool area was so windy it was hard to even hold a drink

We just returned from a four-night cruise on the Dream last week...Only used the adult pool on our "at sea" day...it was definitely quieter than main pool...that said, it is not quiet by any means...we were near the bar area, on lounges closest to windows...did hear blenders going, waiters, etc...and around lunch time it did get a little louder because pizza, grill area was near us...no way as loud and crowded as main deck and we loved the steel drum music in the afternoon.

FYI...we loved Serenity Bay...first stopped at Family Beach for snorkeling...little to be seen! When we got to Serenity Bay it was low tide, could walk out to the sand bar and our children (18-27) were picking up star fish, sand dollars, saw squids, incredible fish and more...We could spend days there! ENJOY the quiet here!!!

We've always found it quiet. On some of the cruises with fewer children, the adults pool gets busier and there's nowhere to sit. But most times, we've found it quiet enough to sit together side by side with our books and talk or sit in the pool or hot tub and meet other people and be able to talk without raising our voices.

Sometimes if it gets too busy around the pool, we go into the Cove Café which is not normally too busy. There's lots of people who come in to get drinks but it's not as popular for people to sit in.

Best time for Quiet Cove is during early dining if you have late dining. We've been there many times during early dining time when we are either the only ones there or there's only one or two other couples or people.

We found satellite falls on the fantasy a very quiet alternative to the cove pool. Had great service and was able to cool off when the sun got too warm. :thumbsup2

When the ship is cruising along yes it gets windy out on deck. Satellite Falls is its own exercise experience trying to get from the stairs to the loungers walking straight into the wind. :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:
