George Harrison's posthumous album "Brainwashed" sold only 73,000 copies it's first week out and barely made the top 20 sales list. Meanwhile, Shania Twain's new album sold 860,000 copies in its first week.
Ringo Starr has recorded a tribute song to the late ex-Beatle for his next new album. The song is co-written by Eric Clapton and features Roger Waters of Pink Floyd.
And Paul McCartney will join some of the biggest names in music Friday (December 6) for a memorial concert to Harrison. McCartney is due to appear on stage with Ringo, Eric Clapton and Jeff Lynne of Electric Light Orchestra. Harrison's widow arranged the concert at London's Royal Albert Hall with Clapton to mark the first anniversary of George's death from cancer. "The tribute for George will resound not only within the Albert Hall but hopefully reach the spirit of the man so loved by his friends who will be performing and attending," Olivia Harrison said in a statement.
Other performers due to appear include Tom Petty, Billy Preston and Ravi Shankar. The sell-out concert will raise money for one of Harrison's favorite charities, the Material World Charitable Foundation, which supports the arts, education and people with special needs
