How old were you when you last went to the Circus as a kid?

I know it sounds weird, but I am trying to prove a point. Please help me do that.

I went once when I was five.

Maybe when I was 5 or 6. Never been back since.

I never went to the circus! :( We did take our girls when our youngest was two, but I had to take her out because she kicked an older lady in the head who was sitting in front of us (stadium seating!)

So, I still haven't seen the circus..although sometimes I feel like I live in one! :teeth:

I went when I was about 5. I recall being bored. Haven't been to a circus since.

That is the worst when you can't get them to stop!

Hmmmmm I don't think I've been to the circus since about 1975 or 1976 . . .I was either 7 or 8.

I always hated the circus . . .those creepy clowns scare me . .

I never went to a circus until I was 12 and it was the most boring thing ever.

I'm not sure what age I was, but I remember being bored. My kids have never been for 2 reasons - I'll be bored (yep, I'm that selfish:teeth: ) & 2 - I hate hearing how the animals are mis-treated so I refuse to contribute to it. I'm not a big PETA person, but even DH doesn't like what he hears about the treatment of those animals.

I don't remember how old I was as a kid but I took DS two years ago when he was 9 and he loved it and I loved it. But then we love the clowns. :)

We used to go every year when I was younger. I really can't recall when we stopped going, but I'd guess when I was 10 or so?

My DH & I went a few years ago & I don't think I'll be back anytime soon. I spent the whole time either stressing over the guys on the highwire w/ no net or feeling sorry for all the animals.

I went once at 11 and wasn't too impressed. We took ds at 3 last year and I still wasn't impressed. Don't think we'll be back.

I've never gone and never plan to (the mistreatment of animals thing).
DH took the kids to the circus once when they were about five or six.

Keep em coming! I just pasted this link to my sister- she was lamenting on how we were abused because she didn't get to go to the Circus after like 12 years old. My mom was old fashioned and my sister is not happy about that I guess, and I just kept thinking, when do normal people stop going to the Circus in childhood if they ever stop? You proved me right, thank you!

The funny thing is my sisters are all deaf so the Kiwanas paid for them every year, and I only got to go once as a kid, where is her sympathy for me?

1972. (guess I was 12)
Was supposed to get to ride the elephant in between shows. This was back in the day before riding an elephant was a 'ticket' opportunity.
My dad was a Civil Defense Volunteer and did security for many 'events' in our small town and county. He made friends with the circus owner when he was helping set things up. Norma Jean, the elephant, was tethered to a tree on the town square. Storm came up that night, lightening struck the tree and Norma Jean was killed...

Never have ridden an elephant :(

I don't remember, but I think I was less than 5. I remember the clowns and cannons really freaked me out.

I've only went once. Don't remember how old I was, but I know I was little.

My spouse has never been to a circus.

I took my dd when she was about 4, I think. So I was around 30.

I think my parents took me once as well.

I've only been once - I think I was about 11.
The only reason I went then was because my cousins had an extra ticket.

I take my kids to plays, ice shows, museums, water parks , theme parks, etc. but none of them have ever been to the circus - just not a high priority thing for them or me.

I'd have to say I was probably around 6. We haven't taken DD to one yet and she's almost 5.
