I was 29 w/ DD and 33 w/ DS. (What a difference 4 years made! I could feel every day of those 4 years all through the pregnancy!)

I was 32 and DW was 29 when we had our first.

23 with 1st
24 with 2nd *16 mos apart*
29 with 3rd

I was 22. I always wanted to be a young mom. My ex-husband was 23 and no where near ready to be a father. That's a huge reason we divorced.

31 with 1st, hopefully 2nd will be here when I am 33

I was 26, three months shy of 27 with DS, who was born 11 days after DH's birthday in the same month.

I was 9 days shy of 30 when DD was born, who shares a birthmonth with me.

I can't get away from the topaz/peridot combination of birthstones!!! :)

Wow! I was 23 when my daughter was born and every parent I meet here in DC is at least 10 years older than me so I am shocked to see that my age group is 2nd in the poll.

Wow - I was just about to say that!!!

I too was 23. Mine were the only kids in the extended family at the time, so they have no cousins their own age.

My oldest is almost 13 and all of his friends' parents are way older than DH and I.

I probably shoud have been older to become a parent, but it has worked out in so many ways.

DH and I had both just turned 27. My b-day is Dec. 20, DH's is Dec. 24, and Jacob was born New Year's Day.

I was 30 (just had him 7 weeks ago). Ideally, I had wanted to start having babies younger, but we had trouble getting pregnant. I can't believe that by the time we are ready for #2 that I might be considered to be in the high risk category.

Having lived in the DC area most of my adult life, I agree. I'm always so surprised to see so many young parents on the DIS....they are definately the minority here in D.C. Perhaps because housing is unaffordable for many young people save those from affluent families...many people wait to have children. I know I NEVER considered having kids in my 20's...I wanted a house and the security of a good job before embarking on parenthood. I also wanted to be sure my marriage had what it took to withstand the pressures of parenting...we were married almost 10 years before we had kids.
