Last year when we purchased, I was 28 and my dh was 30. We wish we could have purchased back in 94...when we were 22 and 24. That's when we first heard of DVC!
We bought last year; I was 48 and my partner was 53. We both have health issues that make it very doubtful either of us will see the lease expire (heck, I'm amazed that we've made it this far!), but we plan on enjoying all the time we can get out of it!!
I'm not telling how old I was in 1998 when we bought. But I will give you a clue. 98% of the posters to this thread are old enought to be our children.
Seriously we bought for our kids and grandkids to use. It has turned out that Grandad and Grandmom have become DVC fanatics. 15 days until we get a 1 BR at OKW for four nights of enjoying all the Christmas goings on.
I had just celebrated my 40th birthday in 1995 when we purchased our original interest in DVC. We look forward to sharing our DVC with our children and perhaps our grandchildren.
My wife and I will close in Dec. We will be 35 and 34 with two kids 5 and 2. I can't wait to start having fun. The kids are all excited. My wife and I can't wait to finally have a relaxing Disney vacation because you are not in a rush to see it all....you know you can come back again and again.....
We just purchased and both of us will be turning 53 shortly after the New Year. We researched tons of time share options and decided the flexiblity with DVC was the best for us. We will stay in studio or one bedroom units when it's just the two of us and have the option of renting larger units when we take the kids and grandkids. Also looking forward to travelling throughout the US and taking advantage of the Conceirge Resorts when not visiting WDW, HH, or Vero. We are in no way Disney fanatics--haven't been to WDW since 1990 but feel certain this was the best purchase option for our needs and retirement travels.
I was 58 and my husband 62 and we intend to use all 42 years of it. We bought at BWV and we're going home in two weeks. Then in Jan. we're going to VWL and we may add on then if its not sold out.
We take out kids and grandkids with us some but they are not going to have it to themselves in these 42 years.
When we bought this past July, my DH and I were both 48. We have an almost 10 yr old, plus a 25 and 24 year old. Especially because of the 10 yr old, we'll be going to Disney a lot over the coming years!!!
If only we knew sooner!! We just bought this summer when we had each turned 37. We have 2 kids and one on the way and my dh has 2 teenagers that live in FL so this is a way for our family to be together and we plan on using it for the full 42 years!!!!
Kathy and her boys one due in June
I was 26 and my wife was 23 when we bought on our Honeymoon. We figured we would buy each other a honeymoon/wedding present and DVC was the perfect thing.
