My son just informed me that my Dell which I got in 2000 is old. Just 'cause it's a bit outdated and the memory is getting a little slower........it's just like me!!!

2 days old! We just got a new one since our old one just died last weekend! YAY!

Technically, you can call most computers over 6 - 9 months of age "old". I believe my work one is a year, our home computer is maybe 4? Still works fine.

Unless you are attempting to play the latest in 3D games, your 2000 model is probably just fine.

Then again, there's nothing like a fresh new computer. So nice and fast, before we get our hands on them to wreck them. :)

Laptop is about 1.5 years old. I have two desktops... an ancient one I bought in Jan 2000 and a resurected one that is about a year or so old. It's a bit slow in the processor speed, but makes up for it everywhere lese (was an old gaming computer for my DH... so it was loaded ;))

Our desk top pc will be 4 yrs old in Dec. And our lap top is about a year old.

My desktop is 3 years old, but I update it continually, I have added more memory, another HD, updated my software, and keep up with general "upping" My laptop is a few months old and the day I got it, I bought more memory and have checked into other upgrades. I am all about upgrading :teeth: and I am all about "Tim Tayloring" anything that I own.

Ours is a dinosaur -- almost six years old. We bought the most power available when we got it and have replaced the hard drive. We'll get a new one before too long, I hope.

One year, two months old Dell. We replace them at about 3 - 4 years old.

Mine is almost 2 yo.

DH has one about 3 yo and an old laptop, plus a spare parts computer for work at home he fools with. (hobby).

DD's is 3 yo.

DS has two. One for games that is 2 yo and another one about 4 yo.
Just one monitor, tho.

DH and DS built all our computers, so there's always computer parts being moved from one computer to another as needed when someething needs repair.

No more computers, LOL.

herc.

One computer is 6 years old and it still works just fine. It needs more memory, but it works just great. One computer dh built a year ago. And the laptop we bought a couple of months ago. The computer in dh's office I'm not sure how old it is, but I think it is oldest one.

The laptop is coming up on 2 years old (bought it refurbished, so two years with us!) and the PC is about six months old. The scanner is actually the oldest part, if you don't count the measly 3 gig hard drive from my first computer (7 years old - I run the Sims off it.) Oh, and we still have DH's first laptop, which is also 7 years old, but the screen doesn't work. It works if you plug it into a monitor, though!

laptop is about 6 months old

desktop is about 6 years old. wish we could afford a new one... its crap.

We usually upgrade our desktop every 2 years, we just upgraded a couple of months ago. We also just got DH a HP Laptop.

Mine is really "the oldest part" compared to just the computer cause i'm always switching things out....

Oldest part? my green neon & hard drive... both around 10 months old

Last month we bit the bullet and made a new purchase. We had an IBM computer that we purchased in 1998 so it was definitely time for a new computer. Also upgraded to DSL!!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Same here. I don't think I've ever had a "new" computer, just new parts. The oldest is the floppy drive which is from my original PC from 1997. The newest are the MB, CPU, and case which are less than a year old. Everything else is between 1-2 years old.
