Hey! It's cool being the first to vote. !00% of the responces are in my age bracket!

Sorry to say that we waited until college tuitions were paid and the kids flew the nest! However, better late than never!

i am only 30, but i bought into dvc when i was 29. it still might be tough to use all 50 years of my contract..

We bought when I was 25. I'm 30 now and our first kid is on the way so this great vacation investment should become even better!! :teeth:

We're with bobbiwoz; waited until The Boy graduated. No UMich tuition checks + empty nest = SSR @ DVC!

As for being too old for a 50 year contract; I'm 42 - in 50 years I'll be elsewhere (maybe the HM Graveyard; see below) but we look forward to taking trips with The Boy and his future family as Nana and Grandpa - and turning it over to him when it gets too much for us.

[Let's see:
"He lived in joy
And not in sorrow.
Beneath this stone
Lies Dr Tomorrow"
Maybe I can even get a Madame Leota-like blinking head!]

I am 33 and my DH is 35. We may not make the 50 years but it should get our future grandkids thru their childhoods.

i'm 37 , dh is 30 and our son is almost 2.

we just bought at bwv october , we may not make it to the end of our contract but we'll have fun trying :teeth:

I'm 37 and just bought at SSR.
DD is 10 so she has a lifetime of vacations ahead of her.

Anyone at SSR in Sept? the 19-26 ? That will be my first trip "Home".

Which question are people answering?
"How Old Are You?" or "How Old Were You When You Bought?"

If you feel too old to buy a 50-year contract, better stay away from timeshares with no expiration date. Then you'd be forced to live forever!

Uh oh! I didn't notice the two questions, Erik! I answered the original "How Old Are You?" as in today......not the "How Old Were you When You Bought?" that is on the poll! Too tricky a question early on a cold, snowy day.

I answered wrong too, Pam! I read it as "how old ARE you not WERE you. Oh well, just subtract one from the 53-57 group.

We are too old to have a 50 contract, too. DH & I are 50 and bought at 50 so, despite the fact that all of our parents are living at 70, 80, 84 & 85 years old...We know that we will get too old to enjoy WDW some day. But we made a deal with DD27 & SIL...They get the time-share but have to take us with them if we ask to go...Even if they have to rent one of those motorized chairs!!! Look out ahead!!!

I'll be 33 in May, New DH will be 40 so I think we will look into a resale rather than 50 years at SSR..... though we have decided that if we do go SSr we will probably end up donating points to a Wish Foundation my daughter used when we get too old to enjoy the trips!

Sorry, I am an idiot. I meant How old were you when you bought your DVC. I always mess these things up. I think it answers my question though. I am 38 and my wif is 34 and we have two kids 5 and 1 so I think maybe we can use DVC for at least another 30-35 years. Then hopefully our kids will keep going.

Hi,

Well I was 24 when my mom brought in July. She was/is in her 60's.

When we bought at SSR in October 2003 I was 57 and dear hubby was 71
(we both have Feb. birthdays so soon to be 58 and 72)
And we intend to use as many of those 50 years as possible!!!
And if our son and daughter are nice to us ...we may even let them go with us! LOL
