How Often Is Free Dining Offered?

Hoping to head down over the summer and wondered if free dining is a possibility. I know it isn't offered all the time, but I guess I am hoping to get lucky. We were there in 2010 and it wasn't offered at the time we went. This time we have a much stricter budget so it would be a huge plus!

Free dining is usually offered for some time in august an runs through sept and sometimes some of Oct. This year disney kept extending it and it finished in March. The year before if I remember correctly it ran until december w/ the extensions. The current special out is for travel through June 14 for savings of 15-35 % off room rate depending on the time you go and the resort category you stay in.

We had the free dining for our last trip....it was nice to have that. But from what I hear, they don't offer it in the summer because that's when most people travel, so they don't really need to lure people in. Unfortunately, the week we plan on going next month, we'll have to pay for it.

You can always check historical promotion dates on certain sites. I think I have access to it on Touringplans.com which I subscribe to (and is very inexpensive in my opinion), but I think I have also seen it on Allears.net, and maybe even Mousesavers. I paid attention to when it was offered in October this year as I need it to save a bundle for our October trip this year!

There aren't really free dining dates during the peak summer months.
