We stayed at the GCV a couple weeks ago. We had our room from Tuesday October 16th checking out on October 22nd. I thought after 4 days they did some sort of cleaning or at least brought fresh towels.

We never received any service at all.

Yes, you only get trash and towel service on the 4th day, and a fill cleaning service on day 8. unless you stay more than 8 days, then you get the full cleaning on day 4 and TnT service on day 8..

If you check in on a Sunday you get your 1st service on Wednesday. So I think your Towel service was scheduled for Friday the 19th.
Did you request a different room at check-in? It's possible Housekeeping didn't know you were using that room if there was a change. Or they are human, you should of called mouse keeping on Friday afternoon. Sometimes they give you a full cleaning due to the mix up.

It was not a huge deal because we usually take our trash out. We did end up washing our own towels once we realized they had not been there. I was just curious what the general rule was.

The timing of the types of service you get are based on the total length of your stay. For stays of 8 days or less, like yours, you should have received a trash & towel service on the 4th day (inclusive of your check-in day), which would have been Friday. (Had your stay been more than 8 days, you would have had a full cleaning on that Friday, and a trash and towel on the 8th day.)

Did you possibly have a do-not-disturb displayed on Friday? If not, you may want to send a note to dvcmembersatisfactionteam@disneyvacationclub.com. It's obviously too late to fix the fact that you didn't receive your service, but it will help them to identify any trends in poor service.

Did you call down to mousekeeping? We've occasionally had a missing bath towel upon checkin or a little mix-up, but just a quick call to mousekeeping usually resolved it.

No I did not call down to Housekeeping and we did not have the DND sign up. We were at the parks from open to close so by the time we got back I was exhausted and would forget about it till the next AM when I took a shower. We do laundry on the trip so washing the towels was not a big deal.

We any of part of your reservation a linked reservation? We just came back from eight nights at BLT (six nights on one contract, two nights on the other). Should have had full cleaning on day 4. We just got trash and towels. On day seven (which was the first day of stay number two - we did have to check out and check back in again), they gave us clean towels again (only partial trash and towel service). On day eight (our last full day), they showed up around 3PM to do a full cleaning. I was napping after several hours of feeding and wining (F&W festival) so my husband declined. He told them we were leaving in the morning anyway and they were surprised about that.

I stayed there last month. VGC delivers linen baskets outside the rooms needing service early in the morning. So when we left in the morning, we saw the basket and when we got back the towels were hung in the room and trash taken out. So I guess that's how housekeeping knows which rooms have been serviced.

This happened to us last month at BCV. Our last 2 nights were a waitlist and a last minuted add on so our 5 night stay was actually 3 seperate reservations. We had 2 full cleanings on Day 4 and 5.

No it was not a linked reservation. There was a linen basket outside our room one day but I just assumed they would bring the items in. The basket was gone when we got back.

They skipped my full cleaning at OKW on my last stay. They placed the basket outside my door, when I returned fromthe park in mid-afternoon the basket was still there. Then the basket was taken away, so I called housekeeping. The housekeeper for my building had reported that my room was cleaned, I told the phone person it was not done, and that there was no do not disturb sign out, so someone came right away. I really don't care if they vacuum, or even tidy, I could even be fine without towels in a one brdm and larger unit...but I do like my fresh sheets mid-trip.

Well at SSR right now...here for 8 days in 2 bdr and then 4 more in studio... yesterday was day 4, should be full clean, basket was outside door, no one showed up, finally later in day housekeeping knocked and ask where was the housekeeping person???? said had not seen her all day and I had taken out the towels and ammenities myself to have something...she just looked puzzled and I said don't worry Oh I put the old towel and trash out for them so basically did her job. This morning knock on door asking when we would be checking out of the room???? Uh we will be here in these rooms until Sunday the 4th she was totally confused and barely spoke English..so this should be interesting the rest of the week and then on Sunday moving again.... we have had more problems with Housekeeping in the last few years at OKW, BWV and now SSR.

Your assumption should have been correct. They do not leave the basket for you to do the work but apparently just to notify which rooms are to be cleaned.

We've always gotten our correct services at VGC so there must have been some sort of mix-up on housekeeping's side for your stay.
