How often do you weigh yourself?

I am back on the weight loss thing. I had lost 5 pounds and some of it has crept back. I never know when the right time to weigh myself, and how often.
I was thinking of once a week at roughly the same time. Maybe Monday morning after my shower?
I don't want to be a scale watcher, but I want to lose at least 20 lbs before we go to WDW in Oct.

Thanks
Lisa

I use Friday morning before getting in the shower as my weigh in time. I think it is important to be consistent on the time of day that you weigh because it can change throughout.

I do however hop on there several times a week, same time of day just to keep myself accountable. If you chose to do that, don't get discouraged if you see the number up one day and down the next. You will see that depending on sodium intake, etc.

Use the scale to your advantage but don't let it control you!!

I try to stick to just once a week. I do Friday mornings... usually around 7 am. Sometimes I have already done a workout, so I try to wait about 1 hr after the work out. But definitely naked and before breakfast!! :rotfl:

It plays too many mind games with me if I weigh myself more often than that. I will occasionally give in to the temptation of a peek, midweek, but more often than not the peek doesn't pay off (either I've lost and I get excited but the number goes up by Friday, or I've gained and I feel like throwing in the towel!).

I know that there are people out there who only weigh themselves once a month or less often. They judge their weight loss/gain by their clothes. I'm not comfortable doing that. I figure I will be a "once a week weigh-er" for the rest of my life. It helps keep me honest. Plus it is a lot easier to deal with a 2-3 pound gain than to skip the scale for months and end up with a 10 pound (or worse) gain! Good luck..................P

Thanks for the replies! I am trying to stick to once a week as well.
Unfortunately, I am on prednisone right now and want to eat everything in the house! LOL! Maybe I will wait till I am done with that med before I weigh myself again!

Once a week on Friday mornings as my official WI. I do jump on each morning just to keep myself in check. I have been doing this for many years, so it going up or down daily doesn't bother me.

I have weighed daily for over 2 yrs. I do it first thing in the morning, after voiding and before coffee. I know many day not to weigh daily but I realy beleive it has helped me not put a single pound back on after losing 50 lbs.

I usually weigh myself once a day (in the morning), but I don't go crazy if I see a couple of pounds gained. I've found if I weigh myself once a week (or less often) it's like I have more expectations of the number I'm going to see . I'm not really trying to lose any weight right now, just maintain. It's a lot easier to maintain if I weigh myself daily.

Every morning religiously, after bathroom call, before food and definantly naked. I have done this since I went back to WW in June of 2005 and lost about 60lbs. Weighing every morning keeps me honest. The only time I don't weigh myself daily is when we are on vacation (WDW) because my scales are too heavy to carry in my luggage. But, when we get back home....the very next morning I jump on the scales and face the music!!:scared1:
For me, daily weigh-in has helped prevent many splurges.....because I know that no matter what I eat....I have to answer to the almighty scale in the morning.:worship:

Once a week(on Fridays). Sometimes every two weeks. More than that, daily changes can frustrate me.

I'm a daily weigh in person. Like others have said, it keeps me honest. Also as has already been said, I do not get upset about daily fluctuations but I do look for trends, either up or down as a sign of how I am doing. It's part of my regular morning routine.
