How often do you think room requests are met?

I am staying at Kidani Village from Jan. 2nd to Jan. 8th. We have booked two studios since my parents are tagging along as well. I requested that the rooms, at least one, be by the lobby elevator since my dad has a heart condition and tires easily. He usually takes a nap between lunch and dinner, and I rather him be close to the lobby elevator if he is already tired. I told the CM this and he responded "Oh definitely." I understand it is just a request, not a guarentee. I was wondering how often your requests get granted? TIA!

We just stayed at Kidani last month, and my requests were - 2nd or 3rd floor, close to lobby. We got a 2 bedroom villa on the 5th floor, a LONG way from the lobby. We did check in on a Wed, and the resort was full, so that may have had something to do with it. We checked into the BWV a few days later, and we got a room on the top floor, by the quiet pool, just as we requested.

On 5 DVC trips, our requests were met each time. It's not guaranteed but they do try. Good luck!

I had a similar experience to the above at Kidani last time out. Requested lower floor (2 or 3) close to lobby, got 4th floor room right near end of north wing more than 1/4 mile from the lobby. In past, we have generally gotten our requests less than half the time but many report having better luck than us. In your case, if it is put in correct, it is for a possible health reason and they usually do meet those requests.

I do think your check in day makes a difference....when we've checked in on a Friday or Sunday our requests have been met....Thursday checkin...is about 50/50...since it seems that a lot of DVC members check out on Friday...agree with above posters that they do seem to try to meet your requests as best they can...all of our experiences have been at BWV

I'm sorry to hijack your post, but I also have a question about requests as well. We just booked our 11 month window for BCV and I requested a higher floor with a larger balcony. I received my reservation notice in the mail yesterday but nothing is listed there or on the website regarding requests. Are they listed only within the Disney internal system or should I double check they have them listed? She read everything back to me at the time of the reservation and it was mentioned then.

Also - I requested a 2 Bedroom dedicated with 2 queens. 2 Queens are listed on my reservation. Does it ever happen that people don't get this? In other words, is there a chance I'll get 1 bed/1 sofa bed and even possibly a lock-off room instead of what I booked? TIA!!!

I HOPE they will be honored! We are leaving tomorrow morning for SSR. We made a snap decision at the beginning of the month to go, and are so glad that SSR had availability for all dates. We are going mid week to mid week to save on air fare. But I called the SSR directly on Monday and requested a room close to a pool. I told them any pool would do - even a quiet pool. So we shall see.

OP. If you inform MS the reason for your request for health reasons you have a good chance of getting it. They do try meet health request first. It is still not guarantee but a good chance of getting it.

This type of room is a reservation not a request. That's what you should get. I remember reading only 1 post here about someone who had to insist that it wasn't a "request." I think that they even contacted MS then and there at check in. I think they did get it.

Those dedicated 2 bedrooms with 2 Qs are the sole reason I bought BCV points. When the DGC come and we stay with them, that's what we need. So far, it's worked out that way.

In 6+ DVC stays I've always had my requests met, but they are fairly broad ie a section at SSR or a generic "highest floor possible."

Thanks Bobbi!!

Good luck. All my requests were met when I stayed at BCV in May. I asked for a larger balcony on a higher floor and got a HUGE balcony on the top floor (5th). I hope that they meet your requests for your Dad's sake.

I think that many people make multiple requests on each room reservation. E.g. a high floor, near the lobby with a specific view. And I think that if one of your requests are met then you got what you requested. However, let me use BLT as an example. Practically everyone asks for a high floor. And many think a high floor is the top two floors. No way can the resort honor all of those requests. And if guests checking in before you asked for a high floor and they are still there on your check in day, then those rooms will not have opened up.

A lot of people at AKV ask for a room near the lobby or elevator. But I know that when a guest indicates it is for medical reasons MS indicates it and the resort pays attention. So I would think the OP has a good chance of getting the necessary room. And while at the check in counter, check the room location and if they assign you one that's too far, remind them of your Dad's heart condition. In fact I'd mention it as they bring up your reservation.

Like the PP said, remind them of the request as soon as you check-in at the desk. On our last two stays at Kidani (one in May and one in June), our requests were not even on our reservation although I made them through MS.

Thanks for your replies! I hope they noted it. The CM asked for his name, so I'm assuming they noted it. I will be sure to remind them again at check-in. I don't mind if our two rooms are far 1/4 mile away from each other, I would just like one close to the lobby elevator! Hope everyone elses requests are met as well!:wizard:

We often don't make requests, but when we have, they have almost always been honored.

I used to have to make medical requests before the resorts went smoke free, but now I only have needed to do that if we have someone along who has mobility issues.

Often I'll request a specific building at OKW, and I've always gotten it when I've done that.
