At least for me those extra checks come at great times. Just in time to pay for a big summer vacation and again to pay for Christmas. My DH and I are both bi-weekly, and honestly that’s all we’ve ever been. But I like it because I budget monthly based on 2 paychecks per month, and the 2 months/year that end up with an extra paycheck feel like “extra” money.
My husband works as a engineer in large construction firm. They pay weekly because most of the employees are Union and that’s how the union contracts read. So instead of running two separate payrolls they just pay everyone weekly.Non-American here, what kind of companies pay weekly?
I think here it might only be temp agencies, don't think we have bi-weekly. The default is monthly, for I think 90-95% of the companies.
